If fundies' faith is so strong (re: 'Book of Daniel')
and their god is omnipotent, why are they always so afraid that something made by mere humans is threatening to them?

1. Because they're mentally ill?!
at least that's my best guess, I could be wrong, but I kinda think I'm right.

2. Because their faith is based on a pack of lies and the whole thing
falls like a house of cards if scrutinized even slightly.

I'm a living "testament" to this truth.

8. If that's the case
wouldn't that mean they know it's a house of cards, or at least fear it is? And wouldn't that, in turn, mean their faith isn't much to begin with?

And without their faith, what are they? And what is their god?

I agree with you, but it's fun to postulate, innit?

Oh, and the show rocks.

11. Too bad...no TV here.
My cable company doesn't offer Comedy Central and Animal Planet, two of my faves. So, I've been TV-less for a year and a half or so.

3. I am offended by Bush pissing on the Constitution. Too bad they can't see
that he is pissing on the bible and this show is the real deal.

5. Good question

On the local news (nbc affiliate) had people's comments from the whole deal and one caller said that. It was a tv show and if a tv show makes their faith waver than they have more problems than they think. It's really pathetic and tampering on our first amendment rights to say whatever we want and be able to watch what we want. I thought republicans wanted less government??? I'm a Christian and I love the show. I thought it was well done and talked about issues of today. They did a job well done I thought. Jesus was how I've personally always pictured him (of course more middle eastern of course, but the personality of him).

10. Yes
Do not lay your treasures on Earth etc. Jesus was clear about that.

12. well they nailed jesus up for that among other terraist type things he did
like associate with Roman tax collectors, prostitutes, the poor, and that he dared question the Pharisaical interpretations of the day, so I imagine this bunch of fundies will nail him up again when he comes back.

"jesus was a capricorn
he ate oraganic food
he believed in love and peace
and never wore no shoes
long hair, beard, sandals,
and a funky bunch of friends...
I reckon they'll just nail him up
If he comes back again."

-K. Kristofferson.

I guess this show has him associating with some funky friends again. sounds like.

15. Indeed
They can say whatever they want about gays, blacks, women, Muslims, Jews and everybody else on the planet on radio/tv, but if a TV show is the slightest bit realistic or ironic about them they want it banned from the airwaves. Effing hypocrites. :grr:

16. Their faith is not that strong...they either must test it constantly to
make sure it is still there, or they must attack anything that might show it to be wrong.

My faith is simple and direct: God is there and he loves us as a ultimate father would. There when we truly need him/it and otherwise lets us learn and grow on our own.
