Cheney, that is. Anyway, you won't want to miss this picture of him:

http://www.needlenose.com/

(It's not his knee. I read a report earlier that said it was a previous "foot problem". Gout can be very painful, and it's usually felt in the feet.)

crotch, with a look of pain on his face, too. (If you didn't see the C-Span episode where Shays coldly accused those New Orleans flood victims of lying, you missed some real entertainment!)

And I hadn't known that about his being a conscientious objector. (I actually doubt he's ever been a conscientious anything.)

Boy, just when I think I've seen the World Cup of hypocrisy, along comes yet another republican and tops them all...

30. Well, I am not one to hand you a weapon without giving you the
ability to fire-- http://www.connpost.com/peterurban/ci_3258720 Shays, who registered for conscientious objector status during the Vietnam War, said the United States has a sound strategy in Iraq. A withdrawal now, Shays said, would send a horrible message to the world and encourage enemies of the United States to come at us again.

If ya google his name and conscientious objector a wealth of cites appears!!!

Amazing how determined he is to put the lives of OTHERS on the line, the chickenshit!

15. no, no, no--one NEVER wishes bad luck--it isn't good for YOUR kharma
you simply wish them exactly what they deserve, and let the universe do the rest. that is the only thing that keeps me from going completely nuts--the thought that somehow, somewhere, they and all their little sheeples are going to have to pay their kharmic debts.

I think an aide left the coat behind at Andrews, and that was a loaner--funny how the press never even said a WORD about his curious attire, but they sure can rip the women to shreds about their sartorial choices. As for that aide, he probably was dumped at an undisclosed location!!!

31. Sure, just find the fattest officer (the doc, or the chaplain, usually)
and borrow their outerwear, removing the insignia, and he would have been good to go in a formal, suitable costume--plenty of room for a ballistic vest, too! The Army and Navy greatcoats would have done the job just fine, and no one would have even noticed! Instead, he has to introduce himself with his outfit as Dick "Sore Thumb" Cheney!

27. Cherries, believe it or not.
Fresh ones, if you can get em. If not, go with cherry juice and/or dried tart cherries. Trader Joes has all of that stuff, or a health food store might carry it. The sour cherries (like a pie cherry) work better than the sweeter bing cherry type.

Consumption of cherries lowers plasma urate in healthy women.

Jacob RA, Spinozzi GM, Simon VA, Kelley DS, Prior RL, Hess-Pierce B, Kader AA.

U.S. Department of Agriculture/ARS Western Human Nutrition Research Center, University of California at Davis, Davis, CA 95616, USA. rjacob@whnrc.usda.gov

To assess the physiologic effects of cherry consumption, we measured plasma urate, antioxidant and inflammatory markers in 10 healthy women who consumed Bing sweet cherries. The women, age 22-40 y, consumed two servings (280 g) of cherries after an overnight fast. Blood and urine samples were taken before the cherry dose, and at 1.5, 3 and 5 h postdose. Plasma urate decreased 5 h postdose, mean +/- SEM = 183 +/- 15 micro mol/L compared with predose baseline of 214 +/- 13 micro mol/L (P < 0.05). Urinary urate increased postdose, with peak excretion of 350 +/- 33 micro mol/mmol creatinine 3 h postdose compared with 202 +/- 13 at baseline (P < 0.01). Plasma C-reactive protein (CRP) and nitric oxide (NO) concentrations had decreased marginally 3 h postdose (P < 0.1), whereas plasma albumin and tumor necrosis factor-alpha were unchanged. The vitamin C content of the cherries was solely as dehydroascorbic acid, but postdose increases in plasma ascorbic acid indicated that dehydroascorbic acid in fruits is bioavailable as vitamin C. The decrease in plasma urate after cherry consumption supports the reputed anti-gout efficacy of cherries. The trend toward decreased inflammatory indices (CRP and NO) adds to the in vitro evidence that compounds in cherries may inhibit inflammatory pathways.

is going through: the heart attacks, the implanted defibrilator,it moved onto to gout/congestive heart failure)

Don't let ANYONE tell you Cheney is in good shape; he probably takes a ton of medications and any slight deviation in dosage can set him back even further

Frankly it is a disgrace that he is 2nd in line for Presidency just based on his health history alone

Trust me, I know. The diuretics can induce gout symptoms. And it gets progressively worse and actually exacerbates CHF-related issues because the gout makes cardiovascular activities difficult if not impossible.
