1. Barely making headlines
On a Sunday show the In Memoriam section showed the names of 15 or 18 troops killed during that week. I'd had no idea. I thought of families going to the door expecting a holiday visitor...and the grim news they got instead, their lives changed forever.

No time is a good time for the news. So much loss and pain.
I know Iraqis suffered huge losses in the last few days too. Such grief.

My heart goes out to them but that doesn't do one thing to help them in their grief.

in addition to our dead. Checking daily at www.icasualties.org is indeed painful.

All the excuses bush, as CIC, can make for sending our troops into Iraq, are inexcusable.

4. I also tried to keep W from going into Iraq
I ran a psychological profile on Saddam to show his concern was not to be a world leader but only that of a feudal type dictator. There was zero proof by the arms inspectors that there were any nuclear activities in Iraq. I called my DC reps saying we shouldn't invade. Being the Republicans they were they said we had no choice because of all the "imminent danger" to the U.S. shown by Rice, Powell, and Rumsfeld. The damn liars and the damn listeners to those lies. Republicans are either liars, incompetent, or both.
