TO THE FREEPERS: This Is Just The Beginning, Not The End.
Delay has fallen from power and is now completely disgraced. That is what happens when you engage in such a culture of corruption and power hungry politics. He is now insignificant. But he is the start of a long line of dominoes of other corrupt, greedy power hungry republicans. One by one they are all going to fall like the now disgraced Cunningham and Delay. One by one. In the end game, your party's entire power structure will crumble away as honor and integrity is restored to Congress. It is coming and it will happen, and Delays utter embarrasment of losing his role of leader is just the beginning of what is to come.

So Freepers, you may want to book those therapy appointments now to learn how to deal with disgrace and being in the minority, as those appointments are bound to fill up quite quickly by other freepers once the power you once enjoyed is all but gone and you have to face the daily pain of waking up knowing your party is now insignificant, powerless and disgraced.

But in the end remember, you did it all to yourselves.

1. the freepers never had power, just basked in the reflected glow of bullies
like the ass weasels that cheer on the bully in grade school, even though the bully does nothing for them, and may even decide to kick their ass on a whim.

They root for the GOP the way they root for a sports team--it has no connection to benefits in the real world apart from seeing their team win.

12. Nice analogy
It is, indeed, a culture of bullies. But every bully eventually runs into the kid that just won't take it anymore.

14. Feels like time to resurrect this Don Henley tune...
Edited on Sat Jan-07-06 02:16 PM by ddeclue

from the 1980's

Little Tin God:

A new age is dawning
On fewer than expected
Business is usual
That’s how the headline read
Some shaky modern saviors
Have now been resurrected
In all this excitement
You may have been misled
People want a miracle
They say oh lord, can’t you see us?
We’re tryin’ to make a livin’ down here
And keep the children fed
But, from little dark motel rooms = Pick a Republican scandal, there are so many today too..
To six flags over jesus
How are the mighty fallen
So the Bible said
You don’t have to pray to a little tin god
Step out of the way for a little tin god
You might fear the reaper, you might fear the rod
But you never have to get down on your knees
You don’t have to holler, please, please
No, you never have to get down on your knees
For a little tin god
The cowboy’s name was jingo = Originally Reagan but sounds like Bush too don't it?
And he knew that there was trouble
So in a blaze of glory
He rode out of the west
No one was ever certain
What it was that he was sayin’
But they loved it when he told them
They were better than the rest
But you don’t have to pray for a little tin god
Step out of the way for a little tin god
You might hate to system, hate the job
But you never have to get down on your knees
You don’t have to holler, please, please
No, you never have to get down on your knees
For a little tin god
Throw down a rope from heaven
And lead the flock to water
The man in the middle would have you think
That you have no other choice
But to wander in the wilderness
Of all the upturned faces
If you stop and listen long enough
You will hear your own small voice
But you don’t have to pray to a little tin god = TV, today FauxNews, etc...
Step out of the way for a little tin god
You might fear the reaper, fear the rod
But you never have to get down on your knees
You don’t have to holler, please, please
No, you never have to get down on your knees
You don’t have to holler, please, please
You never have to get down on your knees
For a little tin god

It say as much about the 21st century Republicans as it did about the 1980's Republicans... (hell most of them are the same creeps..)

The End of the Innocence, Don Henley

Remember when the days were long
And rolled beneath a deep blue sky
Didn’t have a care in the world
With mommy and daddy standing by
When happily ever after fails
And we’ve been poisoned by these fairy tales
The lawyers dwell on small details
Since daddy had to fly
But I know a place where we can go
That’s still untouched by man
We’ll sit and watch the clouds roll by
And the tall grass wave in the wind
You can lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair fall all around me
Offer up your best defense
But this is the end
This is the end of the innocence
O’ beautiful, for spacious skies
But now those skies are threatening
They’re beating plowshares into swords
For this tired old man that we elected king
Armchair warriors often fail
And we’ve been poisoned by these fairy tales
The lawyers clean up all details
Since daddy had to lie
But I know a place where we can go
And was away this sin
We’ll sit and watch the clouds roll by
And the tall grass wave in the wind
Just lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair spill all around me
Offer up your best defense
But this is the end
This is the end of the innocence
Who knows how long this will last
Now we’ve come so far, so fast
But, somewhere back there in the dust
That same small town in each of us
I need to remember this
So baby give me just one kiss
And let me take a long last look
Before we say good bye
Just lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair fall all around me
Offer up your best defense
But this is the end
This is the end of the innocence

2. And remember, the point is these people
broke the law. What they were doing was not in the public interest-that includes your interest. Despite your freeper fantasies, we at DU aren't gloating over "made up" charges-what these guys did was real. It is their own corruption, and their corruption of the ideals of what was once a grand old party that have brought them down, and, with the good sense of Constitution loving voters, will keep them down-and out.

21. And freppers who quit drinking the koolaid and pony up on issues..
are welcome to join the real world and start working on cleaning up this mess.

I'm saying that VOTE Transparency and HONEST elections should be the rally cry of ANY serious candidate in ANY party because this is AMERICA and the power of WE THE PEOPLE HAS TO BE RESTORED so we can get the checks and balances back.

Any seriously devoted AMERICAN wants THEIR vote to be counted and everyone else's as well. It's called DEMOCRACY for a reason though and that's because letting the people have a say in their government is a Democratic Ideal. Still, those who believe in a Republic should also only want to win HONESTLY.

So any freeper who wants to switch from koolaid to honesty and suck up the facts instead of talking points is welcome in my book. They'll be crying for a while when they find out what's been being done behind their backs by people they trusted.

BUT anyone who freeped and knew the facts and still stuck with these losers should go down with them. I know it isn't illegal to be stupid, but if stupid is as stupid does and they don't wise up.... screw 'em.

WOW!

I would love to see DeLay FIGHT this- only because this is just allowing the Dems dirty tricks to work- I don't want to teach them that they can get away with this crapt!

BUT_ I am very proud of DeLay- he is showing integrity and team leadership- by doing what is right for the House so they can move forward while he takes this fight on-and not leave them in libmo on Leadership--

I admire him more than ever now.....

As the corruption is exposed, (Delay, Abramoff, and Cunningham and whoever else gets taken down with them) I personally hope for a domino-like effect throughout the Repuke party. It's a beautiful thing to picture. :woohoo:

16. I got a new one, what do you think?
(To the tune of There Was a Crooked Man)

There was a crooked pRes who walked a crooked path.
He found a crooked party upon a crooked PAC,
To buy his crooked election and then a crooked House.
Battled in the Senate, but couldn't kill DEM mouse.

Surprise. Surprise. Just like in MouseHunt the use of overkill isn't going to save them, only bite them in the a**.

You all complained for so long that you didn't have a voice in government. Well, that's because you didn't deserve one-we don't let the mentally ill and criminally insane make the decisions, because the result would be what you gave us.

10. If I may add one thing to your excellent statement:
Oh, and freepsters? Will you now reconsider giving us our vote back? Because if your party continues to steal elections, we will have no choice but to continue to use other means--such as criminal process--to remove the corrupt persons you place in office.

11. They won't be able to AFFORD therapy!
Now that health care is unaffordable for the rabble.
Perhaps they will have to deal HONESTLY with issues, learn that virtue should be and IS it's own reward....

Then they can go to sleep at night with a free conscience.

Just like the rest of us.

15. I know a lot of DEMs are not religious, but from your post to God's ears..
as the old saying goes. Whether one believes in the traditional Christian view or Buddhism or even have the Muslim faith, honor and integrity are all cornerstones of each and should be common ground for a common dream of a world committed to survial and prosperity for all.

You said:
