If a mine/factory/textile plant/restaurant/Home Depot/McDonalds/ WHATEVER has hundreds of safety violations and has oh say, 100 accidents over a 5 year period. Are we allowed to hang thes accidents on God?? I think not.

If these same establishments had absolutely no safety violations/citations and had 0 accidents over a 5 year period, would we say God protected the people working there?? Maybe yes, maybe no.

If the first scenario mentioned (many many violations) somehow didn't have any accidents/fatalaties in a 5 year period, can we say God protected them?? Maybe yes, maybe no.

If the second scenario (no violations) ended up in a 5 year period having many accidents/fatalaties could we say God smote them?? I think not, you can look at it whatever way you want, rationalize until you are blue in the face, but these men are gone, safety violations occurred. There will be lawsuits, and they will be won.

The new mining inspection dude musta been doin' a heck of a job, huh gw?

There is little difference between criminals who physically assault people and rob them of money and physical belongings... and employers who put their people at risk because of a little expense here and there... in fact, the latter is worse because it often leads to more than just theft of physical property... it often involves loss of life and grieving families.
