7. No
They are doing what they can to draw attention to the war crimes and the perpetrators. There is value in that and if enough people get involved momentum builds.

It's interesting that many people who dismiss this genuine effort seem to wait for institutions, like the MSM, to get on the bandwagon when those very same institutions are complicit in the crime. What is required is more people at the ground level to create the swell. That is the only way this gesture evolves into something more.

3. Citizen's Tribunal isn't exactly the Hague people!
Geez! This is practically The Onion in terms of legality and gravitas.

4. Yawn. No legal standing of any kind at all.
The media will ignore it, W's team will throw it in the trash, the "Citizen's Tribunal" will hold a trial in abstencia, everybody will be found guilty, there will be another press conference that will be ignored.

6. These aren't real indictments.
It's just a stunt to make a point. I'd love to watch anyway, but they're not real.

9. Yes I Know
but it is more than a stunt.

These type of meaningful actions are what can create a certain climate for future more binding possibilities.
In fact one could make the case that as citizens it is our obligation to do such actions even if there is no teeth in the 'indictments'.

12. It'll add a little more momentum to the Shrub's plunge
People don't look at details with such things -- they'll read the headline, cognize it, and then move onto the more local news. It'll remain in the backs of their minds, along with all the other Bush garbage, and contribute to the downward political spiral. I think it's a better thing than not.

can help. I hope Conyers and Boxer show up to help get them to the door.

17. It'll be interesting
to see how close they get and if the message gets delivered. Some WH flunkie will probably greet them cordially and say GW respects their wishes blah blah blah it's great to live in a free country blah blah blah and .... or they'll get beaten and peppersprayed by cops in riot gear.

19. I don't know exactly which stupid little rule they'll invoke as an excuse
but it will be something like,

"You're not allowed any closer, and I'm just a footsoldier, so I can't deliver it for you. You don't have a permit to meet, so, if you don't dispurse, you'll be arrested...."

It will be the Cindy Sheehan treatment, for sure.
