Ministers Say They Blessed Seats (oil )Ahead of Alito Hearing (WSJ)
Edited on Sat Jan-07-06 09:27 PM by IChing
WASHINGTON -- Insisting that God "certainly needs to be involved" in the Supreme Court confirmation process, three Christian ministers today blessed the doors of the hearing room where Senate Judiciary Committee members will begin considering the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito on Monday.

Capitol Hill police barred them from entering the room to continue what they called a consecration service. But in a bit of one-upsmanship, the three announced that they had let themselves in a day earlier, touching holy oil to the seats where Judge Alito, the senators, witnesses, Senate staffers and the press will sit, and praying for each of the 13 committee members by name.

"We did adequately apply oil to all the seats," said the Rev. Rob Schenck, who identified himself as an evangelical Christian and as president of the National Clergy Council in Washington.

Rev. Schenck called the consecration service the kick-off in a series of prayer meetings that will continue throughout the confirmation hearing. >>>>>>snip

in petetrating the ethers. But when they are used in an Attack of Spiritual Imperialism (imposing their wills on others without clear consent), then the partition in the ethers can admit only inimical FORCES.

These jokers may think they are doing something Holy, but it is just low-grade Black Magic in the final analysis. It is wrong to try and manipulate the ethers and the forces and the entities as they are doing.

It amounts to just another form of Skull & Bonery. Dark Shit, 'N stuff.

26. Interesting NEWS: Jesus healed using sacred cannabis oil
Jesus 'healed using cannabis oil' (The Guardian)

Duncan Campbell in Los Angeles
Monday January 6, 2003
The Guardian

Jesus was almost certainly a cannabis user and an early proponent of the medicinal properties of the drug, according to a study of scriptural texts published this month. The study suggests that Jesus and his disciples used the drug to carry out miraculous healings.

The anointing oil used by Jesus and his disciples contained an ingredient called kaneh-bosem which has since been identified as cannabis extract, according to an article by Chris Bennett in the drugs magazine, High Times, entitled Was Jesus a Stoner? The incense used by Jesus in ceremonies also contained a cannabis extract, suggests Mr Bennett, who quotes scholars to back his claims "There can be little doubt about a role for cannabis in Judaic religion," Carl Ruck, professor of classical mythology at Boston University said.>>>snip

"If cannabis was one of the main ingredients of the ancient anointing oil _ and receiving this oil is what made Jesus the Christ and his followers Christians, then persecuting those who use cannabis could be considered anti-Christ," Mr Bennett conclude

8. No, they weren't taking sides just look at their issues.

WSJ
"The three ministers insisted they weren't taking sides in the Alito debate. "This is not a pro-Alito prayer," insisted the Rev. Patrick Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition. With abortion, public prayer, gay marriage and right-to-life issues among those topping public debate, however, "God…is interested in what goes on" in the nomination hearing, Rev. Schenck said."

24. Exactly, also another one was a member of Operation Rescue(terrorist?)
Patrick Mahoney

Additional evidence suggests that actions by Terry and Operation Rescue may have provoked violence at abortion clinics. As the New York Times reported on July 20, 2001, "One of his most avid followers in Binghamton was James E. Kopp, now charged in the 1998 murder of a doctor who performed abortions in Buffalo ." Kopp was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. A November 6, 1998, Times report further detailed Terry's connection to Kopp:

However far from holy these ministers may be it would be excellent if divine energy (God) is increased in that room. If God is truth that is all that we need.

Boy fundamentalists of any religion are going to be so surprised when they do meet God. So will atheists but most of them will really like the surprise. Those who hate and judge and condemn in his name won't be sp thrilled.

27. Need Equality of Rituals
O.K., I insist on some equality of ritualistic religious rites here. For starters, we need a rabbi, a shaman ( at least one shaman ), a buddhist top gun, a hindhu big man, a minister from every protestant faith ( that's got to be a mess of ministers ), a mormon whatever they are called, a wiccan, gotta have a catholic priest, etc., etc.
I, for one, do not want this hearing slanted toward any one of the many valid religions out there - especially any religion that would approve of this bushite administration, and what they are doing to the have-nots of the world. One person's holy oil is another person's pentagon/incense/holy water/tobacco offering, etc.
Fair is fair here. No ritualistic favoritism allowed.

A radical cleric associated with a known terrorist organization (Schenck is the co-founder of Operation Rescue), that has engaged in acts of violence against Americans, invaded the Capitol building and disseminated a foreign substance in a Senate committee chamber.

Why hasn't the Department of Homeland Security taken these people in??

All the Dems have to do is stand up to this bullying administration.

For those who don't believe in God, I'm sure that annointing sounds crazy, and maybe it is.

But, just because someone "annoints", doesn't mean it makes it special somehow.
