9/11 claims another victim: detective, age 34
Edited on Sun Jan-08-06 12:35 AM by Bluebear

NEW YORK (AP) -- A retired, 34-year-old New York City police detective who spent hundreds of hours searching for September 11 victims at ground zero has died of a respiratory disease related to the cleanup, union officials said.

James Zadroga is believed to be the first emergency responder to die as a result of exposure to World Trade Center dust and debris, said Michael Palladino, president of the Detectives' Endowment Association.

"Unfortunately, I do not think he is going to be the last," Palladino said Saturday....

Zadroga had developed black lung disease and mercury on the brain as a result of working at ground zero, Palladino said. Palladino said Zadroga had worked up to 16 hours a day in rescue and recovery efforts the first month after the September 11, 2001, collapse of the trade center towers.

"White House Molded EPA's 9/11 Reports"
WASHINGTON, Aug. 22, 2003

(CBS/AP) The Environmental Protection Agency's internal watchdog says White House officials pressured the agency to prematurely assure the public that the air was safe to breathe a week after the World Trade Center collapse.

"Competing considerations, such as national security concerns and the desire to reopen Wall Street, also played a role in EPA's air quality statements," the report said.

7. They don't know. They haven't realized that teevee
isn't news.

I bet you my good dog, that if most people were asked, they would go ballistic.

Remember, the media is mediated now. For now. And until that changes, we are the messengers. We can do that.

9. That's exactly right, they don't know.
They trust the MSM too much. And, yes, we're the messengers. Unfortunately, like those of us here in Texas screaming our lungs out about Junior in 2000, the word doesn't always reach the rest of the country. We're more organized now, though, and have the 'internets' to help.

11. Was that you guys? I thought I heard someone out there
in 2000! lol

And, Junior sure has been good for our networking. When Clinton was in office, I never gave it a second thought. Five years of His Illegitimacy, I know who can be called for what and when in a heartbeat.

8. I was breathing that shit and had ground zero cough
I feel very sorry for this young man. Not to compare, but I remember in the months after 9/11 that smell was everywhere in lower Manhattan where I worked.

I also remember having a bad cough, as did almost everyone in my office suite. I never really thought about it till the papers started talking about ground zero cough, a dry hacking cough that everyone it seemed had in lower Manhattan as a result of breathing that polluted crap.

10. Plus the fine particulates in that air
I'll bet the cop rushed to the scene and got the full blast of the solids in the air. That explains the black lung. But, my God, mercury on the brain?!?! :scared:
