Poll Shows Support for Democrat-Led Congress

Are Americans growing tired of being ruled by Republicans?

An AP-Ipsos poll, released yesterday, found respondents favoring a Democrat-controlled Congress by a 49% to 36% over a Republican-controlled Congress.

President Bush's job approval remains low — 40%, according to the poll of 1,001 adults. The margin of sampling error was plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Voters will have a chance to follow through on the poll results this November, when mid-term elections hold the fate of the entire Congress and one-third of the Senate.
