What We Want From E-voting Machines |
|
Since E-voting machines are totally financed by American taxpayers, vis a via, Tom Delay's HAVA, don't you think we should begin demanding this contractual stipulation?
A Money Back Guarantee. If we are not satisfied with the way our vote is counted, we get your money back.
Now that's something democracy could live with, eh?

1. I think we are better off demanding a paper trail |
|
I can't believe we don't have one already, actually. Someday soon, anyway. Bryant Check it out --> http://politicalcomment.blogspot.com

2. We had a paper 'trail' |
|
That is our heritage. George Washington was elected with paper.
But with the new e-voting machines, paper was not wanted. How can you steal the vote if you have a paper trail? Hard to do.
Half the states now have a paper trail requirement. The other half are screwed. What half do you live in?

6. Ok? I don't think so... |
|
Recently a dieblod optical scan machine down in Florida was famously hacked. There are a ton of M$M reports all about that hack. Its called the Hursti hack. Google Ion Sancho, also.
Op Scans are as vulnerable as DREs. The only thing virtually foolproof is paper ballots, hand counted.

5. We need a paper trail but we also need citizen sponsored tabulations |
|
Edited on Thu Mar-30-06 10:45 AM by shance
It's not who casts the vote who decides the election, it's who COUNTS the votes.
We need precinct by precinct citizen tabulation of votes. That along with public viewing and camcorders will provide us the fairest more Democratic elections.
Right now Republican backed private companies like Diebold and Election Systems and Software are counting your votes without any public viewing or scrutiny.
In other words, HAVA seems to be breaking the law, or certainly violates the transparency requirement of any and all elections.
