Fahrenheit 9/11 - Finally watched it -
.
.
.

No real surprises, but disturbing just the same . . .

Should be required watching for all military recruits in the USA . .

That would stop the carnage methinks . . .

But that's just my pacific Canuk nature . .

and wishful thinking . .

For those that may be able to access Canuk cable - here's some future scheduling of Fahrenheit 9/11

1. No offense, but... What took you so long?!
When it first came out, many Americans considered it UNFAIR and loony. Then came abu Ghraib and Katrina.

2. No offense taken - but I'm cheap, and live in a small town
.
.
.

So I waited until it was on the tube -

I was living quite happily without television for over a year, but my new place has free cable

and I had a brand new 13" tv in storage

and believe me

I get a wealth of information on the net

and nevermind Abu Ghraib and Katrina, I didn't need to wait for that to decide that the American Administration is "Unfair and Loony"!!

A reflection of the American voters I'm sad to say . .

Brainwashing is alive and healthy in the USA

(sigh)

3. Better late than never - it's a timeless movie none-the-less.

4. the beginning made me cry
Even more than the rest of the movie, the news clips from the 2000 election that were SO familiar to me made me feel so incredibly sad. I remember that night and the month afterwards so vividly, even though I had no idea how bad things would be. Who could have even conceived it?

We came THIS CLOSE to still having a real democracy, but that butterfly ballot brought us to where we are today. It's really too much to even think about without wanting to throw things. Think of all the American soldiers, Iraqi civilians, and untold others who died of poverty and neglect who would be alive today. Heartbreaking.
