Create here a "crash course" - an email of facts, in response to repub bs

I had a co-worker at a poker game tonight tell me that he didn't care about illegal wiretaps - 3,000 people were killed on 9*11, and soldiers are dying in Iraq. (NO SHIT!) And cited "no attacks since 9*11" as proof that we must keep doing what we're doing.

I brought up the fact that osama/al qeada/mullah omar/the antrax terrorist - were still at large. I brought up the fact that the anthrax attacks were timed to the Patriot Act. I wondered aloud about the quickening of Police State USA. "Lawsuits will stop that," says another there. "Not if they get the judges they want," I say.

I told them I'd email them some facts - FBI gathering political affiliation - oh, so much. I have so many DU bookmarks. There's such a pummelling that could happen.

But these are my freinds, and I don't want to pummell them, just say, "hey look - here are some facts" And they're clueless.

I/we need a "welcome packet" for groggy repubs. A "catch up" batch of facts that will show their bush fantasy world for what it is.

I'm focused on their abuses of power and attacks on freedom at home, as well as their fraudulent wars - and who profits and who dies.

I should just send them copies of 9*11, I guess.

But it seems Du should have a "welcome to the light" package of essential facts.

AAAAhhhhh.

BTW: Ed Schultz watched this over the holiday break and he now have his doubt about 9/11. Before watching this, Ed would not listen to what other had to say about 9/11 because, he also bought into this administrations BS.

5. I have been working on one but could use some help.

I don’t think that the GOP has the market cornered on moral behavior. For example there is the Abramoff scandal. How about the torturing of prisoners of war. I am pretty sure that GOP Senator John McCain could explain to you the morality of that. What about the environment? I don’t think they have been very good stewards of our planet. There is also the outing of a CIA operative as political payback for critisism. That criticism was about the case our President made for war. Have you heard of the Downing Street memos? The case for war in Iraq was fabricated and allowed Osama to escape. I sure don’t feel any safer. Look at what happened in London. I don’t say that to knock the troops. I served seven years of active duty as an enlisted man. If you want to support the troops we should bring them home. Is that too wussy? Okay I was counting off the morals that you claim belong to the GOP. So far we have, corruption, lying, vengeance against patriots. Oh yeah I forgot incompetence. The response to Katrina ring a bell? How about not even supplying body armor to our troops. What really burns me is this. During the debate of John Roberts confirmation, we heard about how he would strictly interpret the constitution. Is that the same constitution that W called a G__ D___ piece of paper? He has totally abused his powers as commander in chief. Our founding fathers made us certain guarantees under the bill of rights. Our fourth amendment rights have been violated by this president with his NSA wiretapping and email eavesdropping. What is to stop him from violating our first or second amendment rights? He obviously has no respect for the constitution and believes he is above the law.
Congress is already calling for an investigation into many of his actions. Your party there is in disarray due to the Abramoff scandal. This president deserves impeachment at the very least.
I am guessing that you support this president for one of three reasons.
1. Blind loyalty
2. Tax Cuts –the knee jerk response. Eventually we have to pay off the debt he has run up. These are more like tax deferments. Our children and grand children will pay for the 9 Trillion Dollars he has spent. Have you noticed your local taxes rising? His father did the same thing.
3. You oppose abortion. I think that it is wrong to interfere in another person’s decision. I would not want them interfering in mine.
If that if any of these are your reasons you are deluded and need to pay more attention to what is going on. I don’t mean that as an insult. While the Democratic Party may not have the answer to everything I believe they have the ability to fix our current problems. I won’t even go into all of the way our president is screwing the middle class and their children. I can provide you with evidence of everything I say here. Please come to your senses. This is wrong. Please stand up. This nation that every patriot that has served and swore to defend is being destroyed by this administration
