CNN report: Baghdad children's hospital full of dying "Baby Noors" |
|
CNN just aired a heartbreaking report, taped in a Baghdad children's hospital. The hospital, according to a doctor interviewed, could give rooms full of dying children only basic care because life-saving procedures were not available in the hospital, or anywhere in Iraq. (I think reference was made to Iraq's "once exemplary" medical facilities.) These families, of course, cannot afford to travel outside Iraq with their children.
The well-publicized story of Baby Noor's transport to the U.S. for treatment has given the parents of these children hope that their child will be the next Baby Noor. Some parents gave the CNN crew phone numbers, seeking help for their children.
Can the U.S. not, at the least, help these children, suffering from cancer, heart problems, etc., which could be treated here? They are dying, now, in this hospital, or have been taken home by their parents to die.
CNN put on the screen the website for the organization that helped bring Baby Noor to the U.S., for anyone who wanted to help: www.childspringintl.org.

We have approximately 35 million children who go to bed hungry every night in the US. Do we think they are getting proper medical care? No way.

He died at 3 months of age from malnutrition in 2004! There is no excuse for these deaths. None.

4. We do not need to bring them here. |
|
Some of the hundreds of billions of dollars we are spending over there should be spent on medical facilities. They had good medical care before we came. Iraqi doctors are not being given supplies to treat their patients since WE invaded the country. There are so many Iraqi's who hate us and this situation could be remedied with money. We broke it and now we have to fix it. Bringing one child over here for treatment and making it a media circus is sickening while other children die. They had good hospitals and now they need supplies and protection for Iraqi doctors because some have been killed and others have fled the hospitals in fear. Thanks a lot George.

of this propaganda. There will be many more murdered Iraqi babies not to mention the victims of whie phosphorus. Lots of the kids with cancer were exposed to depleted uranium. Get out of the people's country.

... just enough to become the Yale educated re-patriated employees of Halliburton, Bechtel, Carlyle, etc to become the next ruling class - just like we did with the dude in Afghanistan who's for the most part a Republican but has a middle eastern name and 'looks like one of them'.
Got to keep the population of 'real' Iraqi's down to a minimum so the new gov't doesn't need to have social infrastructure or anything that would get in the way of all those oil fields.
... feelin' just a little cynical this morning ... :(

11. Someone needs to photoshop a pic of Bush dumping babies out of incubators |
|
like the lies that were used to start the first Gulf War when it was claimed that Saddam dumped out babies. Only this time it would be true (reference to Bush admin).
When will this bloody war ever end???

13. What about the children Bushs' war is KILLING. No PR for these kids. |
|
Baby Noor is pure propaganda. This childs unfortunate situation would have occurred whether we were in Iraq or not. The children we have bombed or shot have no chance and no voice.
