1. Why do you think they call W a "Leader?"
He leads the freeper pack in stupidity, hands down. AS dumb in the head, as a hog is in the cheney!(@$$)

2. There are Repugs and Dems from all levels of education. Why demean Dems
with minimal education by implying that those with limited education are automatically Repugs?

it didn't "take".

4. You can tell their anti-intellectualism is rabid.
Go over to FR and read some posts there. I think the average 6th grader in America has better spelling/grammatical skills than 95% of that board. It's pretty sad.

9. Yes, so many
FR posts just reek with fear and loathing--fear of any discussion that goes beyond a Manichean paradigm and loathing of any school of thought that allows for diverse, free debate. Frighteningly, in their core beliefs, these people are fascist apologists, if not overt practitioners. I'm always opened-mouthed with disbelief after a foray over there. God, what has happened to my country, or have these people always been there, but just in the closet? SG

8. There are intelligent freepers. But there is an avalanche of stupid ones.
FR had, prior to the start of the Iraq war, a vigorous debate as to whether the Iraq war was good. In the dim, distant past, they had a vociferous debate about whether Bush would be a good nominee/president. Now on FR you're expected to follow the party line: Bush is swell and we're winning the war. But there are some grumblings over high budget deficits and high illegal immigration. And they still have knock-down, drag-out fights -- on creation-evolution.

11. Actually...
Most of the people I know are republicans and intelligence has very little to do with it. These people are college educated and often very smart. People are republicans for one of three reasons:
1. Money
2. Religion
3. Race.

When someone is rich they often are unable to see, recognize and act upon the suffering of the less fortunate. It is easy to turn a blind eye to the white house when you are making big money and want to keep it status quo.

When someone is devoutly religious and may be one issue people, issues like abortion or gay rights will mobilize them even if it is against their best interests. God will reward them in heaven.

If you are a racist you are more likely to vote republican than if you are a liberal democrat or progressive, who tend to work towards inclusion and diversity.

12. I have a problem with this disdain against...
People who may not have the best education. I myself can only claim an 8th grade formal education. Does that make me stupid? Does it make you feel better to make fun of folks like me? Hell i can't spell half the time even with the help of spell check. Does that make my opinions less relevant than anyone else's?

Making fun of folks over lack of education, and petty shit like misspellings makes you/us look small. If you are going to ridicule people do it on policy, or based on beliefs, not something as petty as schooling, or lack thereof.

You make people in my situation feel like our opinions don't matter. Since we can't spell, we can't form a coherent opinion of our own. I find it pathetic really.

When you have to quit school when your 14 to go to work and support yourself, come back and talk to me.

One of the most intelligent people who I ever met was my Grandmother. She dropped out her first year of high school, yet continued to improve herself throughout her life.

The difference seems to be the attitude that many FreeRepublic types take toward knowledge and learning. In general, we DU'ers embrace and revere these things, while our opposite number rejects and ridicules the same.

That having been said, it does seem like many Righties have a severe case of intellectual sloth...
