Have you noticed that M. Moore has had enough decency to not tell
everyone I told you so? He was the only one I recall who started reporting what the MSM should have had way before anyone even suspected the nightmares that the GOP was building...

1. You know,
despite all the grumbling and hand-wringing from even the "left' side of the aisle, I can't think of one single thing Michael has ever gotten provably wrong. The only person in public life as consistently and continually correct is Scott Ritter, to whom I still think the American media owes a big damn fat apology.

10. Yeah, they really SLAMMED Ritter
I remember talking with a woman, who, God help us, does some journalism, and she showed me a hit piece on Ritter, explaining that this was why she thought Ritter was all wrong. I took apart the piece for her, showing her all the deliberate word choices involved in the slam, and she just ignored most of the analysis.

2. He stood by his words and let them speak

TRUTH to the American people.

I love to watch 911 and gain new insight based on the light of the world today.

My favorite is the scene when GHWB visits the Saudis.

I believe the question Michael asked us was, " Who is he representing?"

4. If Michael Moore looked like Robert Redford........
Edited on Sun Jan-08-06 11:07 AM by new_beawr
There would be much less hand wringing on the left

I've perused the anti-Moore sites and haven't seen them actually list factual errors in his work. They only decry his technique and slam him for not being "fair and balanced" Like the little fascists they are, they attack him and not the facts......What dupes, we all know Moore is a leftie and what he produces are slanted documentaries. All Documentaries are slanted in one way or another, the anti-Moore types are just annoyed that they don't have anyone near smart and talented enough to produce Documentaries for them....Unless you count MSNBC, CNN, Fox, The History Channel.......

6. They also have the problem
that truth is not on their side. A documentary with truth trumps bogus documentaries any day.

9. Yes, it's unfortunate
that he doesn't cultivate a more media-friendly image. :sarcasm:

If only he had a coach-sculpted body, blow-dried thick hair, shiny capped teeth, etc. he might be more palatable to the Corp. Media. As it is, with his "take me the way I am, or leave me" attitude, he's an easy target for the shallow nastiness of the right. SG

8. Michael Moore has gotten a bum rap
He came out and told it like it was. Sure, the movie was opinionated, but nothing was made up and look how it all came out to be true! Moore is a victim of the "kill the messenger" syndrome. He was the first to come out and give strong voice to the heinous truths of the day and this is why he is so disliked. I don't understand why even lefties accuse him of being "too left". What's so left about him? For crying out loud, he endorsed a general for president! (I love Clark too)

Cheers to Michael Moore. I still love the guy. :loveya:

12. MSM said Mike a bad guy, the masses buy it
"I don't understand why even lefties accuse him of being "too left"."

I even get pissed when Randi trashes him, I think that evolved from a time when Mike was on Frankin's show, he passed and Randi and didn't say hello and she took that as ego. If you observe Mike on appearances I think he is very shy.

I love the guy too.

15. I think everyone on the left has the decency not to say "I told you so"
Certainly Howard Dean amongst them.

We have, what, almost 2200 dead soldiers now? It would be in poor taste to say "I told you so" about the Iraq War. That's such an abomination and a disgrace, that the less said, the better.

However, I will gleefully shove an "I told you so" in the faces of smug Repubs who think their party is one of moral character, as the facts of Abramoff, DeLay, Cunningham, Ney, et cetera, begin to take center stage in the news.

Back in the early '80's I used MM's film "Roger & Me" to show young UNION apprentices how the world really works.
