JANE HARMON SUCKS!!!
Could we get a worse spokes person for this party? This women talks out of both her asses. She allowed the spying on Americans, and even thought it was a good program. She agreed that the whistle blower who exposed the illegal program should be prosecuted.

She take both sides of the issue now, trying to walk the tight rope. She was on Faux this AM and basically couldnt take a clear position. She talked in circles, trying to support her previous crappy position, and claims that NOW... after 3 friggn years... she has concerns about the program.

This women has no spine. Time to boot her ass to the curb and get someone in that position who can stand up and take a position... not because it is politically expedient, but because it is the RIGHT thing to do.

JANE HARMON must GO!!

1. Why do you think they have her on?
Same reason Biden and Lieberman are such "popular" guests....

And you're right- if the Dems ever want to regain relevancy- much less majority status, they need to put a muzzle on their Republican enablers.

10. Yeah, like the REAL CLEAR issue of Bushite corporations gaining control of
the tabulation of our votes, nationwide in 2004, with 'TRADE SECRET," PROPRIETARY programming code, in their expensive new electronic voting systems, and virtually no audit/recount controls.

You'd think the Democratic Party leadership would have united on that one.

---------------

This is why the Democrats keep losing elections. They do not unify--and didn't even notice, apparently--that Bush's good buds at Diebold and ES&S would be counting our votes IN SECRET.

I think what is happening is that people like Jane Harmon are beholden to Diebold/ES&S and not to us. I'm not sure what form of election theft machinery they have in Palos Verdes/Redondo Beach, but they are right next door to Los Angeles County, where the head of elections, Connie McCormack (a Dem) is pro-Diebold and pro-paperless voting, and led the dirty rotten campaign to oust CA Sec of State Kevin Shelley, who had sued Diebold prior to the 2004 election and decertified the worst of their election theft machines (the touchscreens, or DREs). McCormack is best friends with Deborah Seiler (wines, dines and vacations with her), the former chief salesperson for Diebold in Calif. I think people like Harmon are afraid of people like McCormack, as well as being afraid of--or is it being a product of?--Bush Cartel black ops (blackmail, extortion, threats, ruination of careers, the ability to plant false allegations in any war profiteering corporate news monopoly outlet, or plant operatives within campaigns). CA Dem politics may look progressive from the outside, but from what I could see and sense in the bushwhacking of Kevin Shelley, it's one of the dirtiest games in the U.S.

12. It is NOT just the voting machines
That is only one factor

The democrats should have stood together against the patriot act, they should have stood together against the IWR, they should have stood together against the bankrupcy bill.

They didn't even stand together in 2000 when you only needed ONE SENATOR to stand up for the vote irregularities in Congress, and they sure didn't keep their promise when the Kerry camp said that they had everything under control as far as vote counting in Ohio and Florida

Only now that bush and companies poll numbers are down do you see a few repukes going against some of his policies, still they generally vote in lock step

4. Well, Dubya told her not to talk about it...
What could she do? She had to do what Dubya told her. She was a bigwig on the Intelligence Committee...Did anyone expect to have independent thoughts? Do what you are told. Don't question authority type of Senators and Congressmen - like Jay Rockefeller also.

6. I can only tell you what I would have done...
As soon as I heard about this program, I would have gone public.

Let them prosecute me for disclosing this 'secret'.

Thats what a real patriot would have done.

11. Same problem with Feinstein
I recall hearing that her husband donated $ to Bush.

She was also one of the few Dems to vote for Bush's tax cuts - his first legislative victory after coming into power.

Ever since then, I don't trust her the slightest bit. And of course, she hasn't given any reasons to reconsider that position. I remember her saying "there are those in my party that favor no PATRIOT Act. I'm not one of them".

Go suck on more defense contracter's tits!

Gimme the guy in your avatar any day. There's a guy that DIDN'T favor the PATRIOT Act and didn't vote for it. The only guy not to!

8. Jane Harman is as close to fascist as the Democrats have in California.
Edited on Sun Jan-08-06 12:11 PM by TahitiNut
It always surprised me that she survives, even though her (gerrymandered) 36th District incudes some very affluent folks and tons of defense industry sycophants. She never saw a military appropriation she didn't like ... even though she postures as fiscal conservative.

15. She's my Rep..

She walks a very fine line in our district. She represents the VERY WEALTHY (and for the most part Republican) Manhattan Beach area in one direction and the VERY STRONG (mostly Democrat), unionized areas of San Pedro and Wilmington in the other direction. Many of her constituents in this area are from the ILWU (International Longshoreman and Warehousemen's Union) from the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach. And they have a very STRONG union.

She does strandle the fence sometimes. But the opponent that she beat the last time around was Steve Kuyekndall (R) who is a VERY, very good friend of John McCain. The Republicans would love to take her seat away from her. So far, she has been able to appease the wealthy Republicans in the northern part of her district and also the unionized Democrats in the southern part of the district.

I understand what you are saying, but I also think she's a very smart woman who will come through for the Democrats in the long run. I'd hate to see a Republican take her place.

17. She'll come thru in the long run ??
What kind of person would sit silently by as the dictator spied on Americans? She has no judgement. None.

18. Yes, as in sprint vs. marathon...the long run.
She is not sitting "silently by".

But she IS one Democratic voice in a Republican-controlled Congress.

(I'm assuming you also live in her district since you seem to know her so well.)
