I hope the Patriot Guard Riders know about it. The local TV news just said the retard Fred Phelps and his whackjobs are coming tomorrow to the funeral of SFC Christopher Robinson who was killed last Saturday in Afghanistan.

JACKSON, Miss. -- Before he shipped out, Sgt. First Class Christopher Robinson told his father he was prepared to give his life for his country.

The 36-year-old became the first Mississippi National Guard soldier to die in Afghanistan since the U.S.-led invasion began in 2001.

Family members said Robinson's funeral will be Saturday; one week after his Humvee came under enemy fire.

Fortunately, a group known as the Patriot Guard Riders have blocked out the hate with a counterprotest where they form a human barricade so those attending the funeral don't have to see the protesters.

As a soldier serving in a combat zone, it turns my stomach to think that if something happened to me, my family would have to attend my funeral with these heartless idiots spreading their hate only a few hundred feet away.

I'm proud of the way the Patriot Guard Riders have handled the situation. They've peacefully stood in the way, even when I'm sure many of them would love to get their hands on these church members. I wouldn't be able to show that kind of restraint.

The guard is very aware of SFC Robinson's funeral and we are planning to be there in force to honor the fallen soldier and his family. Since the Patriot Guard Riders formed last August we have only recently gained any media recognition. Since the recent ABC Good Morning American broadcast (http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/US/story?id=1745591&page=1) and an earlier story by CNN our numbers have grown to over 22,000. Americans, regardless of which side of the political spectrum they stand, are tired of Fred Phelps and the nutcases he leads.

Everyone else seemed like over half of the law enforcement community in Mississippi. Phelps' gang chickened out and was a no-show. This was the wrong place for those asswipes to show their faces.
