my take on the entire immigration issue: |
|
we've got bigger fish to fry.
not saying it's not important to many people for many valid reason, but sorry, it's just not on my agenda this election cycle.

1. That's my take as well. With all the issues facing this Country... |
|
why take all this time and energy on one that will never be "fixed" (whatever THAT is)?
It is what it is and it is not going away.

I agree that it affects our wages, but our country is slipping into fascism for gods sake.

4. I almost feel guilty for having zero passion... |

for this issue....but there are plenty of others to take my place....and they don't seem to care about the loss of our economy, the loss of our rights, the loss of jobs, the loss of our vote, the loss of our future, the loss of New Orleans, the loss of our federal government, our courts, and last but not least....the crimes we as a nation have committed against humanity....for which we the people will all pay dearly...

5. It's a big fish when you consider the cause |

CHEAP LABOR CONSERRVATISM and a bunch of corporate pigs who are getting a free ride on the backs of exploited Mexican labor while whining that Americans don't want to work.
Well, Americans CAN'T work on what they're offering as wages. That's the problem. It doesn't supply a full time worker with safe housing, food, clothing, transportation, and routine medical care. Mexicans put up with it for a couple of years and go home. If they don't drink their few dollars away, they can exchange them for enough to open a small business like a street food stand.
Americans are pretty much stuck here paying for everything they get with dollars, and they get less and less for those dollars every day due to the inflation the government is lying about.
CHEAP LABOR CONSERVATISM is, IMO, the biggest fish out there this election season. The pigs are framing it in terms of immigration. If we turn around and frame it in terms of WAGES, it will bite them in the ass.

6. i like the "cheap labor" framing, but that makes immigration a symptom |
|
the problem is that we have corporatists in power, and their immigration policy is consistent with their priorities. however, that's not the best way to attack their fascist ideology. moreover, there are probably better ways to help the average joe even if we were to let them have their way on immigration.
