Who else was creeped-out by Al Franken today? |
|
Why did he give short shrift to this phenomenal dentist volunteering in Afghanistan, and order him not to talk about politics, "just teeth", because he criticized the administration's policies?
Why was Al so intent on making sure there was enough time for his second-rate schtick with Harry Shearer?
IMHO, Franken is a relentless self-promoter, and the worst thing about Air America.
On the other hand, Sam Seder rocks.

2. Everything he says on air is fair game for the senate race in '08 |
|
You know Republicans in Minnesota are taping every episode of the show to comb through it for little bites that can be used in campaign ads. This causes Franken to be overly cautious about saying anything controversial.

|
good is he (Franken) on AAR?
Franken is the reason that I stopped listening to AAR. He sucks to the nth degree.

|
Try him if you haven't heard him. Thom is really good imho.

but he is for sure being cautious. He has been taking on Coleman more often and that can only be good.

3. It was because the dentist tried to point to good things the Russians did. |
|
They were an occupying force and had no right to be there and no good could outweigh the damage done. Boy, that sounds familiar.

smart move by Franken.
If this guy is bashing the Admin, he'll be on a no-fly list/have his passport suspended in a flash.
Think about the big picture

when Sam Seder was covering for him.
Al lost a lot of appeal when Katherine left. He needs a foil to keep him going.
I heard the interview today with the dentist and thought the same thing. He did appear to give him the brush off.

In fact, before Air America came about, I didn't listen to talk radio at all. (Except for some Howard Stern many years ago.)

I'm HOPING Sam or Thom Hartman take over his show when he leaves. That would rock!
