but I don't fault the guard, he'd never seen her before.
She just got finished explaining how the guardhouse was new.

2. It's about the attitude... |
|
She clearly indicates with her comments that this is a 'common' occurence for her.

and she is one of the most honest in congress.
But this looks like it was her first day back on the job after 2 years off.
There shouldn't even need to be a Nazi style guardhouse.

do you?
What I would expect is that the guard does his job (he did) and do it politely (he did).

7. As far as I'm concerned |
|
there aren't enough facts yet to make a decision about the recent incident, and my first instinct is to say that she shouldn't be charged, but a better question might be how many black democratic congressmen and women does this happen to?

8. In that short clip I saw it as someone doing their job.... |
|
and it didn't seem like harassment to me. I haven't seen any video of the latest incident so I can't comment on that.

US Constitution, Article 1, Section 6 ....
Section 6. The Senators and Representatives shall receive a compensation for their services, to be ascertained by law, and paid out of the treasury of the United States. They shall in all cases, except treason, felony and breach of the peace, be privileged from arrest during their attendance at the session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any speech or debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other place.

But we have been wiping our collective asses with The Constitution for some time now, and this is a trivial example in some ways, compared with things like the Patriot(sic) Act and the fondness for undeclared wars in far-away places.

That the guard had no business asking who her group was?

12. means that the police should, under no circumstance, have an idiot posted |
|
In that location, that is incapible of recognising ALL congress persons. shows poor supervision and planning at the command level. .
Point I'm trying to make is all the argument is a bit premature since no one has all the facts and she has yet to be charged with anything at all.....Nothing will ever come of this because it makes her and the cop look comical. Cop had no authority to detain or arrest her, as she was in route to her duty.

13. It wasn't harassment.... |
|
it was someone doing their job and doing it politely. There was nothing wrong with the manner in which he approached them physically nor in the tone of his voice. He 'backed off' as soon as saw who she was or heard the gentleman with her say her name, I can't decide which.
