CIA, FBI, NSA, DOJ, DOD, SCOTUS... all compromised beyond reclamation ? |
|
Can we trust these agencies to fulfill their obligations? The fact that so many national emergencies, from 911 to election fraud, remain unsolved and unresolved, has me wondering if the neocon coup is so vast and complete that US democracy is in checkmate. I tend to be a bit paranoid these days, and I worry about the 'purity' of the current investigations (Plame, Abramoff, Spygate...). How 'bout you?

They are corrupted beyond belief or understanding with incompetents. The good folks have left....I have a partial list of those who have quit, resigned, been fired.........and it's ugly. You're losing the folks that good government depends on.

5. There are apparently some good people left at the CIA and NASA. |
|
They tend to give me hope. Even Fitz, at DOJ, for that matter. But what is hope, anyways?

6. The CIA is probably the safest right now, along with the Pentagon |
|
Oddly enough, their institutional natures actually make the Pentagon and the CIA most safe right now. The others are corrupted by the Bush influence.
The Pentagon wants the troops OUT of Iraq, and the CIA knows the Bush claims regarding many matters of foreign policy are pure fiction. Neither group trusts or respects the idiot King.

7. Could be, but what about Porter Goss? |
|
His appointment is suspect at best.

8. I don't think the CIA is really under Porter Goss' control. |
|
He's the head that Bush appointed, but the CIA does not respect him or his boss. No doubt Bush and Goss would love to remake the CIA, but the CIA is an institution, and it knows it will be here when Bush is gone. They hunker down, they use their methods of continuing to do what they think they need, and they wait.
The problem becomes the use of these private armies being run through Halliburton. That is my concern. I fear Cheney is creating a small private army he can use in the future for nefarious purposes.

I do feel that there are good elements of the cia left. Hear that Agent Mike? I also hope they don't have to hunker down too long. It is time to get America back for the people.

Much can be repaired with a true leader in office. The career people who are left in these agencies are mostly patriots who want to do the right thing. But they have families to support and lives to protect. When the dictator is gone and a real President is in office, I believe people will pull together amazingly fast to get things back on the right track.
