Soviet Union conspired with British leftists to overthrow UKcapitalism.
This incredible plot was detailed in a letter from Grigory Zinoviev, chairman of the Comintern, and once it was intercepted by MI5 the Labour government at the time decided to keep it secret.

However, some plucky tinfoil-wearing whistleblower or investigative journalist got hold of it and it was published in newspapers. The embarrassment to the government was extreme, especially as it was contesting an election at the time. An election it lost, thanks largely to the Zinoviev letter. Britain didn't have another left wing government for 20 years.

One small problem - the letter was fake, planted deliberately to embarrass the government and overthrow Labour. It fooled the government, Special Branch and MI5. Precisely because of their desire to believe tinfoil.

Another amazing story - a secret document revealing a Jewish conspiracy to take over the world. This plan, The Protocols Of The Elders Of Zion, was also fake, but that hasn't stopped it being a mainstay of antisemitism to this day.

The moral of this story: Yes, there are plots and secrets. Seeing them everywhere, however, is incredibly foolish and plays into the hands of your opponents.

1. Well --
I'm not informed about this -- reference? (Doesn't have to be online, though that would be nice).

But -- are we sure MI5 was fooled, rather than LIHOP -- happy to see Labour fall?

2. they say it fooled them but it didn't
besides, the ussr and the british commies were openly trying to overthrow uk capitalism, twas hardly a plot. a real plot was the 'great depression' which was created by agreement among the same type of gopofballs who worship geeb (brother of john ellis bush, or....wait for it...'JEB'...lol) and who were 'mad as hell and not gonna take etc' after the russian revolution and the disappearance of the aristocratic control of germany, austria hungary etc in the 1st world war (which their own grasping stupidity had brought on)...a real secret plot was the bushevik murder of president john f kennedy in broad daylight, or the theft of the elections (nixon overthrow) or 1980 (carter overthroww) or 2k and 2k04 (overthrow of democracy)
btw if anyone thought aboyut it at all, ovverthrowing the greedy punks would be as natural as stopping a disease, but NOOOO! the greedy punks own the news, own the records....
