Poll question: Is The Immagration Issue A REPUG Distraction |
|
Are the PUGS using this issue as a distraction while working under the cover planning something even worse....or do you think this is for the PUG the GGG of 2006?

1. Yes, but it may very well backfire like sciavo |

they should, if really smart, step back and think about the enormous gravity of the situation, however they cannot think long term, they only think election cycle. So do the dems for that matter.

2. It's both a problem and the Repubs are exploiting it. |

We need to control our borders and work with the Mexican government to improve conditions in their country so that the citizens don't need to come the the US to make a living. Mexico has an oligarchy:
a small group of people having control of a country, organization, or institution : the ruling oligarchy of military men around the president. • a state governed by such a group : the English aristocratic oligarchy of the 19th century. • government by such a group.
We are headed in that direction. We, and they, need to fix our own governments. And, new Democratic leadership needs to insist on the Mexican government grow a middle class. For them, and us, it will not be easy.
Put up the fence. Fine employers for hiring illegals. Offer medical treatment to those who need it and then send them back. There are procedures for coming to this country and they should be followed. If not, you are illegal.

3. That probably defends on your station in life. |
|
If you're a businessperson or other professional, it's no big deal. If you're a construction worker, it's a genuine issue.
And, frankly, I can't see how Republicans are supposed to be benefiting from this controversy, because it is tearing their Wall Street/working stiff coalition apart.

6. Most people don't want their communities defined as racist. |
|
To make felons or gestapo out of the organizers and operators of a town's community action centers, free-clinics, soup kitchens, homeless centers, and church outreach programs is naturally repugnant to most normal people.
