MindTree Consulting to launch IPO, to hire 3,500 pros...only problem? it's in India

BANGALORE: Information technology and Research and Development services company MindTree Consulting plans to float an initial public offer during the current financial and also hire 3,500 professionals by 2007-08, the management said on Saturday.

MindTree has become the fastest Indian IT company to cross the $100 million mark in revenue.

The Bangalore-based firm reached $102 million mark in revenues in 2005-06, an 83 per cent growth over the previous year; the company in which ventural capitalists hold a stake of around 40 per cent, proposed to go public in the second half of 2006-07, its Chairman and Managing Director Ashok Soota said.

5. Also note they are higher paying, educated positions; not
slave labor. I find this interesting to note with our current illegal immigration issues where I see so much comparison to immigration standards of other countries. Sorry for the tangent.

6. No tangent and it's an excellent point.
Not only that. The few high tech jobs left here are being given out to Indians. Indians with IT degrees are freely given visas to come here so they can occupy these positions.

But of course, Mexicans who come here to clean toilets should not be allowed to come. We must protect toilet cleaning jobs.
