book about Pickles
Laura Bush : An Intimate Portrait of the First Lady by Ron Kessler will be released on April 4, 2006.

First Lady Laura Bush believes Hillary Clinton did not keep good house during her time as first lady, a new book will charge.

On December 18, 2000, just after the Supreme Court ruled on the election, Hillary Clinton gave Laura Bush a tour of the White House. The incoming-First Lady was dismayed at what she saw: Not only were carpets and furnishings fraying and in disrepair in the West Wing and public areas, the Oval Office was done in loud colors—red, blue, and gold! The East Wing was cut up into small offices and had exposed electrical conduits. Many of the furnishings looked dated.

Laura Bush noted how the Lincoln Bedroom looked worn out.

Laura was appalled at the way the Clintons left the White House and Hillary Clinton's gaudy, outdated taste in decorating.

........

Those seem strange comments from someone who dresses in the fabrics she chooses...

note to Laura: chenilles, jacquards, tapestries are SOFA material...NOT made to cover your fat ass!

2. Is she going tell us about how she killed her ex-boyfriend too?
We're gonna have to renovate and fumigate the entire White House after THEY are removed.

3. You know a woman with class wouldn't have said such things.
But Laura Bush did. No class.

5. Oh.My.God.
This one REALLY makes me laugh.

As an avid decorator, I tend to notice backgrounds when people are speaking from their own homes.

I remember the first time I saw a George & Laura telecast from the Crawford Ranch. It was Christmas time, and behind them was their living room fireplace -- decked out in red and green BANDANAS - the ones you get from the discount dollar store!

As for the Lincoln Bedroom, that wouldn't even come under the First Lady's auspices; it is maintained by WH housekeeping staff.

I guess Hillary had better things to do with her time at the WH - like trying to come up with a viable health care system for Americans - as opposed to checking out the decor.

As for "Many of the furnishings looked dated." Well, Laura, those are called 'antiques', and the White House is full of them. They're priceless artifacts from our nation's history, and they're not supposed to get a fresh fifty coats of varnish every year in order to gussie them up.

This is what happens when you allow no-account trash to live in a place that's way beyond their intellectual understanding.

8. So Clinton was gaudy?
Not like this? This doesn't sound a bit over the top?

The pièce de résistance, both decoratively and symbolically, will be a carved bed canopy in the shape of a crown. It too has been sent for gilding. When affixed to the ceiling, the crown will support yards of regal purple satin over white lace, both trailing to the floor.

:snip:

Gilded crowns and royal colors strike an unusual note in a house carefully stage-managed to symbolize the democracy. Neither element would have been acceptable to George Washington, who was advised to surround himself only with things that were "substantially good and majestically plain." Eagles were fine in "the President's House." Allusions to monarchy would have been anathema.

13. "SHE'S NOT FAT"
Eh? She's a cow. She's positively elephantine. A cow elephant. Which is not to disparage either cows or elephants.

11. Well Laura
Since you do nothing but sit around on your fat ass, why don't you grab a cloth and some lemon Pledge and do some dusting and tidy up a bit.

Unbelievable she said that. What an idiot.
