I guess they call them snap elections in some places.
Some way to get rid of idiots before they do even more damage.
Boy, do we need that.

7. What Is the History of Recall Elections?
Even though 26 states authorize the recall in some form, Gray Davis is only the second governor in U.S. history to face a recall vote. Despite its infrequently usage, the recall has a long, if spotty, history in America.

Lay off California. California has always been a Republican state, and only in the last few elections has it switched over to Democrat, and the party hacks on both sides are still trying to reverse the trend, because it mungs up the electoral college math. It is no accident the political big-shots in Sacramento all look bland and ineffectual while getting re-elected over and over. It is embarassing, but not because we threw Davis out (although I voted to keep him.)

While it is true Davis is preferable to Ahnuld, he richly deserved his defeat.

2. Well, I don't agree with that . . .

Last time they had a "snap election" I got to participate in, the VRWC manufactured a phony case against a charisma-challenged governor who was wrong-footing his PR (even though he'd recently been reelected with a pretty solid majority), bought and paid for an hysterical recall, turned it into a circus with dwarves, pornstars, and musclemen running, and handed the world's 7th largest economy over to Hollywood big shot with zip in the way of governing experience and expertise.

Unsurprisingly, it's not working out so well, and the pubbies now have a strong foothold in what is otherwise a reliably liberal state (Not that there isn't intense red-state/blue-state type division between the coastal cities and the interior).

Nah, let's leave elections for election day and impeachment for when the goniffs have really let their murderous and kleptomaniacal urges run wild.

3. Well said
And if we can overcome the Diebold debacle, we can get rid of the muscle man.

4. big elections
Edited on Mon Apr-03-06 10:46 AM by sweetheart
decapatation, bovine shrike,
pigs appellation, an orwellian natural selection,
boom boom, count the votes, democratic strike,
a new war of holding more enfranchised elections.
Why that's a thoughtful proposal; What a good idea,
"universal and equal suffrage", and as well, fraud detection,
to overturn the corrupt state of media,
vote the bastards out now, snap poll, election!

By the time its massaged on to the ballot,
choices removed, corporate media censors edition,
and no matter the demos, communist mallet,
the kapital choice votes one: business sedition.
Voting rights, choose from firestone or bridgestone,
Asphault or concrete, choose you own headstone.

5. I really need to up my font size
I originally read your title as "bunch of tools" instead of "bunch of fools".

Wait, that fits, too.

6. Recall elections, like in Venezuela?
That's a scheme that could work. Nice thing is, if the people are enlightened enough, they'll detect a bogus attempt from a rich elite to unseat a good President. (he he he he)
