How does Wolfe Blitzer proclaim himself a "credible" journalist?
He was totally incompetent in his questions to Howard Dean this morning. For someone that is entrusted with as many hours as he on national TV, one would think he would have a grasp of at least a minimal of facts. He prefaced one of his questions with the idea that the Democrats that took money from Abramoff should return the money or give it to charity? !!! Governor Dean let him know that no Democrats had taken money from Abramoff. Does this guy ever do any research? What an incompetent asshole! Fortunately, Governor Dean put him in his proper place.

1. It's where he got those 'creds'...
http://www.yuricareport.com/Media/OnPatRobertsonWolfeBlitzerAndDavidCorn.html

But it’s sort of strange to realize that Pat and Wolf Blitzer go way back together. Yep! Wolf used to work for Pat Robertson's CBN way back when Pat was setting up his news bureau and Wolf was the 700 Club’s reporter from the Middle East. He was a lot younger in those days, but in those beginning days Pat exposed Wolf Blitzer to a viewing audience that topped the Nielsen ratings at 28.7 million monthly viewers! That’s a great way to launch one’s career. But Wolf Blitzer likes to keep that part of his career kind of quiet. He doesn’t list the 700 Club’s news bureau in his biography. He doesn’t tell CNN’s audience that Pat was like an angel to him when he was just an independent reporter starting out. But those of us who watched Pat’s show could never forget Wolf Blitzer’s reports. He was presented to us as such an expert—we were just so proud of him! And look how high he’s gone. You’d think he’d give Pat a little credit. No doubt he says “Thanks” by inviting him on CNN!
After all, Pat started a J-School (Journalism School) and Bob Slosser, who had worked for the New York Times became the President of CBN University and Bob Slosser shared Pat’s vision of a new America. Slosser was at the graduation of the first graduate from the Institute of Journalism, it was a young lady named Eliza Wright. And the Governor of Missouri, a fellow named John Ashcroft gave the graduation speech on May 20, 1985! (My how these folks go way back together—and it shows what loyalty can do!) Bob Slosser told the 700 Club audience that day:
“We’re going to change the way the country thinks, we’ve bought into this secularism thing and that’s taken us right down the wrong path. I believe that this institution and those like this…will change the way this country thinks!”

2. I'm not defending Blitzer but
...both my Democratic senators were given money by tribal clients of Abramoff. Cantwell returned it; Murray has not. The Seattle Times this morning editorialized that Murray should get rid of any money possibly tainted by this guy and his clients.

I'm not sure I agree, since obviously the tribes got ripped off by Abramoff.

But in any case, maybe that's what Blitzer was referring (i.e., receiving money from clients of Abramaoff.) I didn't see the show myself.

4. Are all tribes "clients" of Abramoff ?
And are all the tribes guilty of crimes and bribery, as is Abramoff?

5. Dean made the distinction of money from tribes vs. Abramoff.
Dean shut down Wolf's attempt to dilute the scandal by reaching for Democrats. He very clearly said no Dems received money directly. He also implied that it was insulting to the Indians to try to taint the Dems by saying that the tribes were clients of Abramoff therefore the money was from him.

Blitzer was babbling by the end of the segment.

13. A client of Abramoff isn't Abramoff
from what I've read, the tribes were victims of Abramoff. One shouldn't assume that all donations by these tribes were brokered through Abramoff; they were giving to politicians before he arrived on the scene, after all. Maybe this entire mess will help everyone to rethink true campaign finance reform (one can hope), but I think this assumption of guilt by second party association is reaching a bit

16. Some Dems received money from organizations from whom
they had been receiving donations for years prior to Abramoff being on the scene. Dean clarified that no Dems received money from Abramoff.

9. Blitzer having so much exposure on CNN should make all of us wonder
Just who is paying him? We know that journalists and "Think Tank Fellows" were taking money from Abramoff and others to write editorials, news articles and the rest...so, the over-exposure of Blitzer does make one figure that he's getting something on the side.

That CNN has become so "in your face" with their propaganda is what's really worrysome. They aren't even trying to conceal their bias anymore.

Both MSNBC and CNN crackd down after the NO's reporting seemed to be letting the "cat out of the bag" about the incompetence and lack of compassion of the Bush Crime Family. Both Cables even built brand new sets at their studios with new "bells & whistles" and whiz bang sounds to distract the viewers. All that was right after New Orleans.

There's alot going on out there. I expect it's the ramp up to another stolen election. It's FULL BLOWN BLOW BACK to all those whistle blowers and average Americans who want their country back.

6. He's probably an anonymous member of the AAJC (Alliance of Jews & Xians)
WorldNetDaily, July 11th, 2002 ...

Rabbi Daniel Lapin, head of Toward Tradition, and Gary Bauer, former GOP presidential candidate, will co-chair the American Alliance of Jews and Christians, or AAJC. A statement released yesterday calls the effort "a unique synthesis of Jewish authenticity and Christian grass-roots muscle."

...

The new cooperative, headquartered in Washington, D.C., will have an immediate constituency via Bauer's approximately 100,000-strong e-mail list. According to the statement, the advisory board of the organization will include Dr. James Dobson, Charles Colson, the Rev. Jerry Falwell, the Rev. Pat Robertson, Pastor Rick Scarborough, as well as Rabbi Barry Freundel, Rabbi David Novak, Rabbi Meir Soloveichik, Michael Medved, John Uhlmann and Jack Abramoff.

Noted without comment.

10. His ignorance can be funny though.
It seems he didn't know that the media wasn't supposed to say that Israel had nukes. During an interview I watched with the Israeli ambassador once, he mentioned that, and the ambassador about took a shit. "Why do you say that? We have never said that. We have never said that." Quite furious. Before Wolfe could say anything more, someone off-camera quickly jumped in with a question on a different topic and Wolfe was excluded from the discussion. That was funny.

14. Dr Dean should have started with " Wolf do you ever check the validity
of the talking points the republicans give you before you go on the air? If you would have, you would know that is a total lie." And then went on to say what he did. Our people need to start every one of these interviews questioning their honesty so the public see there is doubt.

15. That's what his sigh at the end of todays Dean interview was.
Edited on Sun Jan-08-06 06:26 PM by Ready4Change
That sigh was Wolf thinking "Holy Crap! DO I really suck THAT bad as a journalist? Where are my ethics? Where is my integrity? When did I start violating my youthful idealism and become such a crony to a totally corrupted cabal?"

But don't worry about him. It's nothing another clandestine check can't heal.
