2. Seasonal proviso
The Color Coded Terra alert system is only used during the summer and fall of even years (which coincidently also happen to be election years).

4. Here's some info...

Advisory System
Homeland Security Advisory System

Current Threat Level

March 21, 2006 – The United States government lowered the national threat level for the mass transit sector in August 2005. The country remains at an elevated risk, Code Yellow, for terrorist attack.

The United States Government will continue to closely monitor and analyze threat information and share that information, together with guidance for protective measures, with state, local and private sector authorities as well as the general public as part of the sustained national effort to prevent terrorist attacks and protect our homeland.

Snip

Looks like somebody been sleeping on the job - Aug 2005 to March 2006? What are they all doing? Shopping and waiting in lines to posh restaurants and emailing idiot rich text to sycophants?

Complete with a link to Homeland Security - http://www.dhs.gov/dhspublic/ -, where the infamous graph is in prominent display.

You may wish to rephrase the question.

7. The part that has always gotten to me most about this system
Why even bother having five levels when the lowest it ever goes to is elevated?

As long as we have bush and crew in charge elevated is the lowest it will ever reach anyway.

6. I have nothing now to coordinate my wardrobe to.
The only useful federal program to come out of DHS. Besides the Bureau of Duct Tape and Plastic, of course.

10. "Mission accomplished!"
It got the chimp in office twice, or at least provided the cover for his taking the office, and after Nov 3, 2004, was not needed anymore.

Have there been ANY terror alerts since Nov 04?
