VIDEO - Black Leaders Proclaim Support for Rep. Cynthia McKinney

At a press conference today in Atalanta, Black lawmakers, clergy and activist gathered to declare their continued support for Representative Cynthia McKinney.

As of today, the D.C. Capitol Police confirm that the incident has been referred to the U.S. Attorney's office but would not say if a warrant has been issued for McKinney's arrest.

6. She sure is an American Hero

and she has stood up against the WAR and the Bush Crooks when she was the only one standing.

I sincerely hope that DU will stand with her on this issue.

What we really need to address is Homeland Security.

If that is the little button they must show, and since "we all look alike," it would be so easy for a million sisters to take that tiny decorative pin off of Sister Cynthia and breeze on by the guards.

I don't know who that woman from the Georgia state legislature was who was speaking in support of Cynthia, but I was sure happy to hear her.

I'm heartened that these activists are speaking out in support of Cynthia McKinney. But where were the gay groups, dammit? National Black Justice Coalition where were you?

10. Homeland Security is full of shit

The goal of Homeland Security is to turn the homeland into an armed police state. It already feels like it in many places, particularly in the Federal City, around the White House and the Capitol grounds.

They are trying to shut up Cynthia McKinney (and other voices like hers) because if they shut you up they shut you down. Well guess what. They won't.
