Bush booed loudly at Cubs-Reds game? |
|
I heard this rumor and I'm looking for confirmation.
Thanks.

1. You'd think the Cubs/Sosa set would cheer him loudy...while slapping |
|
their thighs, laughing, and bellowing "Stupid ASSHOLE!!!"

remember him in Beantown! And Johnny Damon still gets cheered around here...

20. Wait 'til the first home game against the Yankees... |
|
...then we'll see if Damon gets cheered. Somehow, I suspect that the fans won't take kindly to his playing for the minions of Satan from the Bronx. :P

High and wide, but according to Fox, the fans loved it.

4. Try the Cubs and/or Reds and/or MLB messageboards. |
|
At the teams' official sites (or mlb.com for the MLB one). Those forums are usually pretty active.

5. CNN was on in the background... |
|
I didn't know what was coming up as I can't see the screen from here. Started off like a cheering sound then turned into an odd sounding ruckus - enough for me to get up and see what the heck was That all about?
so, I would say it was more a boo thing than a cheer thing.
yay!

6. the game is in Cincinnati |
|
Edited on Mon Apr-03-06 02:55 PM by maxsolomon
so i'm going to say it didn't happen.
Rove chose this game because it was a safe bet. they still love them some Bush in Jean-Schmidt-electing-Paul-Hackett-rejecting Cincinnati.
IF he got booed there, you might as well schedule the impeachment.

http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=ml-reds&msg=24646.3 One poster there says: I'll be booing because: 1. Bush is a clown. 2. River traffic is shut down, no ferry 3. Traffic will be a nightmare downtown 4. I have to get there what, 4 hours early? 5. Bush is a clown

13. I couldn't tell what the sound was. Sounded like a very loud hum. |
|
Like booing coupled with cheers.
The ass was surrounded by military, in what was probably an attempt to keep the boos to a minimum.
The military people were intro'd before chimpy to rousing cheers. The announcer even said where they had served and what medals they had been awarded.
It was kinda weird.

17. I don't think he was booed to loudly because... |
|
he was surrounded by war vets as he walked to the mound. the crowd didn't want to appear to be booing the vets. Damn slimey bit of Roveness behind the photo-op.

22. Gulp...A White Sox Fan Defends Cub Fans???? |
|
Had asshat shown his sad face in Wrigley, he would have been booed out of the place. Wrigleyville is not only Cubbie Blue, it's Democrat blue...home of Rahm Emanuel and Jan Schakowski. It'd be like pusshead trying to show up at Fenway.
Cinci is still somewhat safe ground for his assholiness.
There's a hilarious story about Dusty Baker's photo-op at thinkprogress.org (somehow their site is down right now). Also, on the local news they interviewed one player who was asked what he thought about booosh's pre-game visit and the player said booosh kept getting everyone's name wrong.
And, yes, the Opening game of the season was played in Chicago on Sunday night.
