I Think Its Time For Al Gore To Step Up
And become the omnipresent voice of the Democratic Party.

The time to strike our seal of Integrity on the public mind is now and there is no one better suited to the task than the man who has most notoriously run afoul of this immoral bunch of criminals.

The public is receptive, the time is now.

9. Nominee for what?
He was a huge failure as presidential candidate and I see no reason to think that he has improved.

10. If You Had Watched You Would Have Noticed He Won
How winning equates to a failure as a candidate is way over my head. Maybe you can explain?

2. Al is apparently moving to San Francisco and shepherding his new network.
I'm not sure he wants to do this anymore.

However, I agree with you- he has the moral chops to do this.

maybe run for Gov of CA?

Lead the country in alternative energy solutions. That would be cool.

22. I'm not sure he wants to do this anymore.
When I saw him speak last year, someone in the audience yelled out that they wanted him to run again. He said "sorry, no. I'm a recovering politician"

:(

4. Better late than never,
I would be greatly pleased if Al Gore would step up now. I'm not really sure whether to categorize his 2000 performance as a failure to step up to the plate, or a strike out, but it wasn't wonderful.

Still, I believe that it would help if he would speak out now. He's always been intelligent, and reasonably well informed, if a bit wooden. I too would appreciate it if he could find his voice now.

12. I've been thinking about a Gore/Kerry ticket for '08. Poetic justice.
The two men who were unlawfully deprived of the White House, the first by the Supreme Court, the second by Bush's buds at Diebold and ES&S ('TRADE SECRET," PROPRIETARY programming code in their new election theft machines, with virtually no audit/recount controls). (You think they went to all the trouble to achieve this capability, and then didn't use it? Har-har.)

Nothing Americans love more than justice. Add in "poetic" and they love it even more.

Gore made some great speeches last year, and seems like a man on fire. He was particularly good on the torture issue, and the degradation of American values that the Bush junta has wrought. And Kerry? What can I say? I think he can be brought along, under the guidance of a man on fire with strong democratic ideals. And I am 100% convinced that Kerry won in 2004 (a big win, by about 5%), even with his iffy stance on the war (which 60% of Americans have opposed from the beginning, Feb. '03, before the invasion), and other problems. He won. He convinced enough people--I think with his basic decency and intelligence. He got Diebolded.

Aside from that--poetic justice--I'm for Boxer/Conyers. Although there is something poetic about that, too. The two people in Washington DC who believe that we should have fair, honest, transparent elections, and were willing to put their bodies on the line for it, under the withering ridicule of criminals like Tom Delay.

That's my ticket.

Hillary will be chosen for us, of course--if we can't get rid of Diebold and ES&S in the meantime. We won't have any say in the matter. But I can dream. Also, I think we should set election reform as PRIORITY NO. 1, whatever they do to us, and never, never, never, never, NEVER give up on our right to vote. NEVER! PRIORITY NO. 1. Nothing else matters!

15. I think so too. We need someone with a strong voice to school
the American idiots about their transgressions. Bill won't do it. Too busy trying not to be too controversial for Hil.

19. I voted for Gore in 2000, but
the total lack of fight that he showed in this epic battle has soured me against him. He had a chance to make a difference, then didn't.

unconceeding and did it without the help of the Democratic Party or the media.

21. Gore?? Nope, sorry.
I really like Al Gore. He should've been President, but, sadly, his time has come and gone. No doubt I'd vote for him, but he simply can't win. We need someone that can win, someone the Republicans simply hate...someone like....hmmmm....Hillary.

25. Sorry to demur, but If the votes are counted fairly, a green gecko lizard
if it had Dem by its name would beat anything the Repubs could put out there.

The problem is in the qualification: IF THE VOTES ARE COUNTED FAIRLY.

I repeat: If the votes are counted fairly, ANYBODY THE DEMS RUN will beat anything the Repubs have to offer.

If things remain as they are today, w/ GA, AL, OH unquestionably in the R column and many other states where the percentages will be clearly tilted dramatically in the R's favor, I don't think any Dem could win or will win.

This is the long and short of it.

But there are a lot of people out there now who are working to change things and there is still a chance that something will happen between now and then to restore our democracy. We need to stay active and aware of what's happening.
