3. Bush II, Bush I, Nixon, Buchanan and Pierce |
|
both Buchanan and Pierce were northerners with southern sympathies which hurt the Union--so they couldn't be called great Americans.

6. Pierce is right on, what a sad character, though. Buchanan had a resume. |
|
He had done it all, sec. of state, etc., so I left him off my list.

10. I concur with your list. Buchanan may actually have been the worst ... |
|
until George W. Bush. And Pierce .... he's a distant relative of the Silver Douche Bag -- her maiden name, and the name of Neil's son. So it's only right to include Pierce with Bush No. 1, Bush No. 2, and Buchanan. Nixon ... well, that goes without saying.
And one day, I believe that Ronald Reagan's name will grace that list.

4. Fillmore, Harding, W., Coolidge, Tyler |

That's my five. Plenty more, but must be careful; many that were nondescript presidents did other things to be recalled for.

5. Herbert Hoover, Warren G. Harding |

You might look into the Teapot Dome scandal, if he hadn't died, he may have been impeached, too much cronyism, too many backroom deals. Herbert Hoover, who played his tuba, while Americans starved in the Great Depression.

"(Nixon)could shake your hand and stab you in the back at the same time."
"(H)is casket (should) have been launched into one of those open-sewage canals that empty into the ocean just south of Los Angeles. He was a swine of a man and a jabbering dupe of a president. (He) was an evil man -- evil in a way that only those who believe in the physical reality of the Devil can understand it."
"In retrospect, McGovern made some mistakes, but they seem almost trivial in comparison to what (Nixon) does every day, on purpose, as a matter of public policy and a perfect expression of everything he stands for. Jesus, where will it end? How low do you have to stoop in this country to become president?"
