Did you ever ask a shrub-bot who really HATES Hillary Clinton, "Why?"
Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of Hillary's by any stretch of the imagination. I don't think she would be a good presidential candidate for a variety of reasons.

But I don't hate her.

Most Rush-bot type Americans DO, however. HATE.

Ever ask any of them, "why?" What has she done to warrant actual hate?

What answer, if any, did you get?

1. I hear they hate her because she is a strong woman. My friend and his
wife are Rush ditto heads and they believe that a woman should be subservient to a man.

3. Yes, but if you ASKED such people to actually articulate a reason why they
hate her, would they actually say something like, "because she's a strong woman, and we can't be having that!"

I mean, could people say such a thing and keep a straight face?

21. They just start sputtering
Because they can't tell you the real reason. I wonder if they even acknowledge the real reason to themselves. It's all about misogyny, IMO.

Why is it they could abide a strong woman if her name was Condoleezza rather than Hillary?

2. I've asked my mom the same question...
...and I've yet to hear anything that gives her justification for this "hatred." Then, she starts in on Mayor Ray Nagin and I realize that she's been watching too much cable news.

I tell her I can't condone hatred and don't bring it up around me anymore, please.

11. The RW "Noise Machine" of AM radio and cable news has conditioned
these sheeple so well, that they really don't know what the reasons are why they don't like Hillary or the Kennedy's. The mention of the names is sufficient to be equated with persons automatically dismissed as evil.

But try to pin them down, and we should when people say these things, they don't have much to say. Except to change the subject or blurt another unrelated talking point. (Sometimes they know little code phrases like "Whitewater" "Chappaquiddick" or "Hillary's Socialist Health Care" but they almost never know any facts about what they're talking about.)

These people are brainwashed.

It's not that I disagree with their take on the incident - but it happened 100 years ago. Find something new to hate about Kennedy.

7. My mother and father both in their 60's, refuse to describe the
premise of their politics. They watch only Fox News. They hate Hillary, yet refuse to say why. Its not that they cant, but that they refuse to. I believe the organizing principle and premise of their politics is evil, black and hate filled and they know it. To actually say the words or verbalize the reason behind their politics would be to admit their hate, ignorance and racism. This would be too much for them. They hide behind the pleasant fictions offered them by Fox News.

8. That was well said.
I think that has the ring of truth to it. I know a lot of conservatives who will bend over backwards trying to come up with justifications against gay marriage & civil unions, when the sad, obvious truth is that they just don't want gay people to have equal, happy lives.

It's because they've been given permission to hate and she falls into several categories: woman, Democrat, Clinton, politician, "liberal," and generally not on their "team."

Morons will very obligingly HATE anyone they've been given permission to hate.

But in the long run, the conversation always goes back to her husband. Oh, and every now and then someone will say how they don't respect her because of the whole Monica thing.

Like I said, they aren't very articulate.

I finally looked one right in the eye, and said Hey - I didn't ask you about Iraq, or immigration, or any other topic. I asked you WHY you don't like, specifically, Hillary Clinton. Can you answer that particular question?

It couldn't. It stammered and once AGAIN tried to change the subject to repuke talking points.

They believe she's evil because he/she has heard it said 2,456,785,678,980 times on the RW broadcast media. Ergo, it must be true.

20. I asked my mother in law about this once.
I don't think they have a reason.
Before the election I tried to talk some sense into her and her husband. I talked about voting for an alternative to *ush which she immediately brought up Clinton.
I expected this but then she says she could never have respect for that "Dumb bitch" Hillary for standing by Bill Clinton after Lewinsky. She said it with such disdain I couldn't believe it.
You see, she had confided to me earlier in the year that she was "seeing" a professor in an another state that she had meet online in a genealogy chat room! She was having an affair! I looked her straight in the eye and in front of her husband said, "You mean to tell me that you have lived your life in such a way that you have NEVER done anything in which IF you got caught you would want forgiveness???!!!" She turned a color that I had never seen before! I didn't out her but I came damn close! We don't talk much anymore! She doesn't like confiding her little secrets anymore, which is good cause I didn't want to hear them in the first place!

24. My wife's boss HATES her. She is his answer to every political problem
you can mention. He has no answer why, other than "socialized medicine!" and occasionally, if anyone is crazy enough to engage him, he might bring up "Travelgate," but he never seems to know what it is.

But there she is, the ultimate demon. Mention how badly things are going in Iraq, "Hillary sucks!" It's alway Hillary. A totally irrational fear of Hillary. It's scary.

30. My dad says all of that, and then he brings up sex.
He really believes that Hilary is some odd kind of lesbian/bisexual and that she and Bill had weird sex orgies in the White House, which just makes him sputter and turn red.

I, for one, don't get it. IF it's true, why would I care?

28. The reason I've heard people use for hating Hillary is because
she didn't make a public spectacle out of the Monica Lewinsky affair. A lot of people around this neck of the woods were expecting some sort of reaction from her similar to a Jerry Springer show guest. I think they were just really PO'd when she didn't publicly lambaste Bill for his indiscretions.

29. The reason that they hate Hillary
is because Rush told them too. I honestly think it's as simple as that. They've had the message pounded and pounded into their heads by RW propagandists, incessantly, for year after year. That's essentially how propaganda works, isn't it?

(I've never personally had the honor to be close enough to a Rushbot to be in a position to ask.)

force these people to articulate their reasons, or lack thereof, for this hate, to show them how ridiculous and unfounded and based in mindless propaganda it is.

31. A friend of mine (she's a republican) told me recently she doesn't like
Senator Clinton. I asked her why but and she couldn't really say why. She also said she doesn't think she would be a good president. I was honest and told her I'm not a big Hillary fan and that it would be okay if she was vice president and not president. I also said strong and intelligent woman like Hillary is what is needed to be the first female president. I think she agreed with me after I said that, especially when I asked would you rather a Elizabeth Dole or a Kay Bailey Hutchison?

36. I think it's fair to ask sometimes though, just to show some of these
people that they can't even SAY why they hate her, they can't even give a reason.

I realize for many of them they don't care, they're perfectly fine with having a prejudice ground into their psyche by propaganda. But if they want to argue politics with you, they can have it shown to them that they don't really know what they're talking about.
