Send Tom Delay a "Thank You" email (before they take the link down)
This is from RightMarch.com, and they have an email link to directly thank Tom Delay for everything he has done. this is from their website:

Tell Tom DeLay "Thank You" For His Service.

Congressman Tom DeLay, "The Hammer" who helped push through so many important pieces of conservative legislation, has decided not to seek re-election to the U.S. House in the fall. He did it for the good of the conservative movement, understanding that, if he didn't step aside, there was a chance that a Democrat might win that seat, since they've been pouring MILLIONS of dollars into that race in Texas. This is a man of true integrity and character -- something sorely lacking in Washington, D.C. We need to THANK him for his years of service and dedication. Click through now to send a FREE message directly to his office.

Here is the link directly to the compose an email page

I went to the bottom one, and chose the Compose your own email option.

2. I'm at a loss...
 ..what would "we" as progressives thank that dirt bag for?

I can only imagine the outpouring of love from the right, though. That must be a sickening sight to behold. :eyes: I can't believe they erected a website for that. Complete with weeping American eagles no doubt.

3. Goodbye
And good riddance was my message. Can't believe KO is trying to make this out as a loss to the Democratic Party since they no longer have such an "easy target." Right, Keith. The Dems are all about easy targets. Sheesh.

4. my letter
Mr DeLay
Thank you for giving America the K-street project and selling our democracy to the highest bidder. May karma find you and give you all that you truly deserve for your arrogance, greed, and mostly for your holier than thou "Christian" act - which I am quite certain both Jesus and his Father see through.

6. thank you for all you've done....

Dear Representative DeLay....

Thank you for all you've done to expose the corruption of the Republican Party. America will always be grateful that your criminal conduct, along with that of your staff members, your colleague Randy Cunningham, and your pet lobbyist Jack Abramoff, helped us see how utterly selfish the republicans are, especially the neoconservative radical republicans whose causes have been described as "doing so much, for so few, who need it so little."

While you're enjoying your richly deserved vacation in a federal penitentiary, I hope you can find the time to reflect on how much harm your party has done to America during the last six years. It's ironic, that after working so hard to run America so far into crippling debt, you will likely spend the next several years as a ward of the State, a further burden on the taxpayers whom your party has already burdened with a crushing debt for several generations into the future. Perhaps our grandchildren will curse you still, but they will certainly remember you-- every time they remember that America was once prosperous, once respected, and once honored around the globe. We have our current republican leadership to thank for freeing us from the constraining chains of prosperity and moral authority, and you in particular to thank for showing us just how far the venal can fall if they reach too far.

You've shown us how greed, cronyism, and fiscal hanky-panky DO pay as long as our hubris doesn't cause us to grasp for too much. Be assured that while you take your rest behind bars, the wealthiest one or two percent of Americans will thank you for all you've done for them, all you've sacrificed for them, and all you've given them. Well, actually they will likely forget you, but that's just their nature. Every time their greed triumphs over the more desperate needs of the poor or the middle class, your memory will be honored.

Hats off to you sir-- you're a great example of republican conservatism!

Sincerely
xxxx

8. My Letter to DeLay
Dear Mr. DeLay,
I am glad that you are leaving, and I hope that you do jail time. You have been a disgrace to this country. You and your party have abused the Constitution. Oh, and don't send any GOP goons to look for me. I've got an 80 pound Pit Bull that hates republicans.

11. Yep. Mine was equally short and sweet.
To: Tom Delay

Justice is being served to you, cold, as it should be to a traitorous bastard such as yourself.

May you rot in hell, for dragging the religion of christianity through the mud for your own selfish, personal gain.

Sincerely: the American People

12. Here's mine:
Good BYE MR. DELAY!!!

I hope you have learned that lying, stealing and cheating are not
tolerated by the public anymore. I hope you have learned your lesson,
sadly.... I don't think you will.

You are NOT above the law Mr. Delay, you have no right to even serve
public office. I am glad that you have stepped down.

Good luck to you in your future, hard lessons don't come easy
sometimes.

Sincerely,
