Republicans may be in path of political 'hurricane'
Republicans may be in path of political 'hurricane'
Updated 4/4/2006 11:39 PM

By Susan Page and Richard Wolf, USA TODAY

WASHINGTON — Is a tidal wave gathering?
The announcement Tuesday by Rep. Tom DeLay, the former House majority leader, that he would resign from Congress signaled what Democrats hope for and Republicans fear: That Democrats could be swept into power in November by the sort of political tsunami that helped Republicans win control of Congress in 1994.

"We know that there's a hurricane coming, and it's going to hit the Republicans in November," says Charlie Cook of the non-partisan Cook Political Report. "We're just trying to figure out how big this thing is."

Dick Armey, who became House Republican leader when the party gained control in 1994, acknowledges that Republicans have "set the stage for the Democrats." However, he says, Democrats need to offer an alternative rather than just attack. "I think it takes a double-barreled shotgun, and they've only got one barrel."

3. we need to change.. Elect the Sup Court, expand the House to replace the
senate with a more democratically structured House, and make the prez removable with a vote of no confidence..

that would make our Nov victory a true representation of the people's mood. More democracy, less "representation by aristocrats" who think for us, supposedly.

anyone second democracy?

2. AAR is our other wing, Mr Armey{i wont buy into your imagery}

AAR constantly gives the voters the ideas/policies of the Dems. Armey must not be a regular listener LOL.

Get union LOCALS to buy radio stations, like IBEW bought KUDO in anchorage, for 160 000 dollars last year. Union HQ's all seem to be asleep at the switch, but locals can afford it nonetheless.

5. Two Bushite electronic voting corporations 'tabulate' all of our votes
Edited on Wed Apr-05-06 09:43 AM by Peace Patriot
using 'TRADE SECRET,' PROPRIETARY programming code--code so secret that not even our secretaries of state are permitted to review it--with virtually no audit/recount controls.

Diebold: Until recently, headed by Bush/Cheney campaign chair and major fundraiser Wally O'Dell, who promised in writing to "deliver" Ohio to Bush/Cheney in 2004.

ES&S: A spinoff of Diebold (similar computer architecture), initially funded by rightwing billionaire Howard Ahmanson, who also gave one million dollars to the extremist 'christian' Chalcedon Foundation (which, among other things, touts the death penalty for homosexuals).

Diebold and ES&S have an incestuous relationship--they are run by two brothers, Tod and Bob Urosevich.

These are the people 'counting' all our votes behind a veil of secrecy.

So, is all this talk about a Democratic "hurricane" just a set-up for the Bush junta's "come-back victory" in the November Congressional elections, compliments of Diebold and ES&S? Or, will they be throwing a few sops at the Democrats--nowhere near a Congressional majority--in a "mixed bag" election, to point away from this egregiously NON-TRANSPARENT election system and dampen the grass roots election reform movement?

Stay tuned.

-------------------------

At the least, we should prepare to MONITOR these election results as closely as we can.

1. Demand that the Democratic Party fund INDEPENDENT EXIT POLLS. The war profiteering news monopoly exit polls cannot be trusted. And it's the least our party leadership can do, after their permitting Bushite corporations to gain control of the 'tabulation' of all of our votes.

2. www.UScountvotes.org has a plan for statistical monitoring, and they need DONATIONS NOW.

3. Tell people the truth. They NEED TO KNOW. And there is a chance that big turnout can overwhelm the fraudulent machines. Bumper sticker: "Help us beat the machines--VOTE!"
