1. what were they saying?
and you should call Bob Casey's office to make sure they know about it. This stuff has to be responded to fast before they get a foothold in the public mind.

3. No Chance
It ain't gonna work. Santorum's a gone goose here in PA...and good riddance, too. Maybe he and Tom can launch a new bug extermination business together.

Casey's popular...the son of a popular former Governor, and Santorum just ain't very well-liked here anymore.

The race I'm really worried about here is the Governor's race between Rendell and Swann. Polls show them TIED.

Casey's still up by like, 15 points.

I can't imagine why Rendell and Swann are tied, though. Admittedly, Rendell has done a few things to damage his popularity, among them, signing the legislative pay raise (a major controversy here in PA) but still...Swann has no political experience...NONE. All he has is name recognition as a former hero of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I look at this as a sure sign that PA (and likely enough this sentiment is stretching across our land) that it is time for a change in leadership, and I think a lot of incumbents - from both parties...are gonna be in trouble.

I think we may be seeing the start of a massive shakeup. It is looking to me like more and more of America is just plain fed up with the status quo.

Not linking, not describing, not anything? You really shouldn't waste people's time like that.

11. Casey Is The Only One Who Can Beat Santorum, In My Opinion
and we need Santorum GONE. Badly.

I just don't think Pennacchio would stand a chance. For one thing, his name is unfortunate for a person who wishes to enter politics...I can just SEE the attack ads already. Sad but true.

The point is, whoever we DO support, we all have to be unified in one thing...getting rid of Santorum! He's gotta go!

12. That's why he continues to gain endorsements?
Do you know anything about him? Why will he be attacked for his name? Please enlighten this ignorant soul...

14. Do You REALLY Need Me To Explain That?
Do you REALLY need me to explain how his name will be used in an attack ad? Come on...think how nasty and mean Republicans are. I'm sure you will come up with how they will attack him.

I'm sorry, but I really believe CASEY is the only one who can beat Santorum. and even if we do not agree on this issue, we should certainly be united in our desires to get rid of Santorum.

If you can PROVE TO ME - through DOCUMENTED, RELIABLE, UNBIASED SOURCES that this Pennacchio stands a decent chance of beating Santorum, I promise to take a second look. And please source it.

We know for a fact, from Quinnipiac, that Casey leads santorum by 15 points in the polls. Can you show me similar numbers in a race of Pennacchio versus Santorum? If not, then please, help Pennsylvania by supporting Casey. He may not be the best alternative (I don't care for his pro-life stance myself) but, at this point ANYTHING is better than Santorum...and I would like an ASSURED victory over Santorum.

I just do not believe Pennacchio comes with the same level of guarantees of beating Santorum that Casey does.

I'm not like, a huge Casey fan or anything...understand my one and only objective here is GETTING RID OF SANTORUM!!

You have a good chance to get me to look at this Pennacchio that you so staunchly support, for whatever reason...IF YOU CAN PROVE TO ME - THROUGH DOCUMENTED, UNBIASED SOURCES that Pennacchio beats Santorum as badly as Casey does.

Remember, let me make this perfectly clear, I do not REALLY care which one of them gets the Senate seat this year, for Pennsylvania - AS LONG AS IT IS NOT SANTORUM!!

9. To be honest I didn't catch a whole lot of what was said in the ad
Edited on Wed Apr-05-06 11:07 AM by Sugarcoated
It was a heads up for Pennsylvanian's to keep a watch out for it. It was saying something about Casey being absent from committee meetings by some big percentage, something to that effect. It was pretty lame.

13. Here's the scoop on who is paying for the attack ads on Casey...
Wish we had a slime emoticon for this group

<snip>
New ad attacks Casey, but who's paying for it?
By BOB WARNER

A VIRGINIA-based group that refuses to identify its contributors is throwing another $400,000 into the U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania.

The Americans for Job Security, classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a "nonprofit business association," is hitting the Philadelphia television market with an advertisement that criticizes the attendance record of Democratic state Treasurer Bob Casey.

Americans for Job Security has a nonprofit classification from the IRS known as 501(c)(6) - a group that includes chambers of commerce and business associations.

The classification apparently allows some of its donors to deduct their contributions as business expenses.

15. It'll be Democrats' fault Casey loses, not the attack ads....
... Apparently Democrats would rather have Santorum than a pro-life Democrat...

16. My Thoughts Exactly!
Hey, I don't like Casey's "pro-life" stance, either, but hell, at this point ANY Democrat is better than six more years of Santorum.

sincerely, Pennacchio supporters, I'm open to you, I really am. Can you produce polls from a reliable and unbiased source that shows your guy with a 15-point edge on Santorum? If so, I'm gonna have to give your guy another look.

Because I am not rabidly pro-Casey, or anything like that...i'm just anti-Santorum, and I want to give us our best possible chance at unseating Santorum.

If you can show me your guy has as good a chance as Casey...at unseating Santorum, then you've got me!

Whoever we are FOR in this mid-term election, we all need to unite behind the prize of getting Santorum OUT.

As I say, if you can show me some polls from a reliable and unbiased source that show Pennacchio having as much of a lead on Santorum as Casey has...I'll have another look at your guy. I'm not closed-minded about this...except that I will not throw my support to someone with a lesser chance of beating Santorum. I flat won't do it.
