Poll question: Dumb hypothetical question: How much $ would it take you to vote for Bush?
Edited on Wed Apr-05-06 10:05 AM by skipos
Lets say it is 2008, the constitution has been altered so Bush can run for a third term, voting is Diebold-less and 100% secure, you like the dem nominee, and polls indicate the election is going to be extremely close in your state, and your state may decide the election.

If someone offered to pay you to vote for Bush, what is the LEAST amount it would take? And remember, you don't know if your vote will effect the outome of the election.

16. it would come back next year
Bush would just use it as an excuse for more tax cuts for millionaires.

4. Idiotic question. Another case of "Skinner's Theorem"...
... Which says something like "some poll questions are so morally tilted against one answer, that the results of the poll cannot be taken as indicative of anything".

6. It would take all the money invested in the Iraq war and in tax cuts
to be reinvested in actually productive programs. (And even then I would probably vote for someone else and just say I voted for Bushboy.)

7. I just spent 2 1/2 years living on $800/month
when my mortgage took the first $560. I was looking at the necessity of selling my house and nearly everything I own and moving into a studio apartment just to survive on that amount.

And no amount of money would have persuaded me to vote for that thing. The same goes for antichoice Democrats. Can't do it, won't do it.

10. Lets face it, money rules the world
I wouldn't be able to live with myself for $1,000,000, but if I got enough money to fund an incredible presidential candidate, I would do it. What would that be, $100 million?

13. My vote is not for sale!
If I won't sell my vote for a tax cut, why would I sell it for cash? Hell, no, some things should be above money. My vote is one of them.

23. Hah... 1 million? I can't even retire on that today. Get lost, cheapskate!
I'd sell, eventually. It would have to be enough money that I could sway public opinion with the merest flexing of my fiscal pinky, and still have enough left over to personally finance all the programs that would be cut by asshole. Basically, enough money to make the winner of the presidency irrelevant.
