5. My email was beautiful ~ thanks for the encouragement

It was just delightful telling them my thoughts on Tweety!

I also mentioned his drinking that was more than obvious even to someone with their back to the TV.

6. What exactly does Chris Matthews owe Tom Delay?
MATTHEWS: Thanks. I owe you one. I owe you two — today and last night.

DELAY: No you don’t.

MATTHEWS: No, I do.

DELAY: I appreciate it.

10. My brief but to the point email to tweety....
I always knew you shrilled for the right, but your interview with Tom DeLay had to of taken a good bit of practice... My question is whose butt did you practice on before you starting kissing DeLay's? I think I will invest in chapstick as it seems you will need lots of it.....

Edited on Wed Apr-05-06 05:18 PM by TahitiNut
It's too bad his audience doesn't have the same advantage.

MSNBC should be prosecuted for making a GOP campaign contribution - the program was less 'balanced' than a Swiftboat ad.

15. Soto: "It does make you wonder what NSA files there are on Tweety."

<clip>

Note also that Matthews is getting GOP focus group information backchannel from Frank Luntz. Which means clearly that he is part of the machine. How repugnant is it to see a pundit and quasi-journalist tell a politician who is facing trial and possible jail time “I owe you one. I owe you two – today and last night”?

Hardball indeed.

16. Rachel Sklar - "TRY ME"

<clip>

p.s. There is a whole other post to be written on Tom DeLay's comment about Hillary Clinton: "Nothing worse than a woman know-it-all." (To which I and about a zillion other women have this succinct two-word response: TRY ME). Even better, DeLay, why don't you try fellow Republican Bill Napoli? I'm sure he can think of something.

26. My two cents...
Hey Tweety...why not try sticking to the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics for a change. Here's a link for a little refresher course...

http://www.spj.org/ethics_code.asp

Preamble
Members of the Society of Professional Journalists believe that public enlightenment is the forerunner of justice and the foundation of democracy. The duty of the journalist is to further those ends by seeking truth and providing a fair and comprehensive account of events and issues. Conscientious journalists from all media and specialties strive to serve the public with thoroughness and honesty. Professional integrity is the cornerstone of a journalist's credibility. Members of the Society share a dedication to ethical behavior and adopt this code to declare the Society's principles and standards of practice.

Here's their mission statement...

The Society of Professional Journalists is dedicated to the perpetuation of a free press as the cornerstone of our nation and our liberty.

To ensure that the concept of self-government outlined by the U.S. Constitution remains a reality into future centuries, the American people must be well informed in order to make decisions regarding their lives, and their local and national communities.

It is the role of journalists to provide this information in an accurate, comprehensive, timely and understandable manner.

It is the mission of the Society of Professional Journalists:

To promote this flow of information.
To maintain constant vigilance in protection of the First Amendment guarantees of freedom of speech and of the press.
To stimulate high standards and ethical behavior in the practice of journalism.
To foster excellence among journalists.
To inspire successive generations of talented individuals to become dedicated journalists.
To encourage diversity in journalism.
To be the pre-eminent, broad-based membership organization for journalists.
To encourage a climate in which journalism can be practiced freely.

27. Here's my email to NBC ...
"Gentlemen:

What follows is an excerpt from a dialogue from an interview of Tom Delay by Chris Matthews. I am appalled that Mr. Matthews did not respond to Mr. Delay's assertion that there is 'nothing worse than a woman know-it-all.' My question to you is, are you no longer interested in attracting the female demographic? If so, either have Mr. Matthews apologize on air or you will lose this viewer and any other females I talk to about this. It is absolutely astounding that a professional of Matthews calibre could be so insensitive to half his audience. The interview overall was amazing from the incredible amount of fawning on Mr. Matthews part towards Mr. Delay - whatever happened to impartiality? Or is this the new NBC? Perhaps hiring a few women to the upper echelons of NBC would be helpful in securing a sensitivity to half your audience."

And I also forwarded, with NBC emails, to most in my address book.

UL - you got me fired up today - thanks for posting!

28. I LOVE Jane..
Always wondered if that was Spittle flying off of Mathews lips and piling up in the corners of his mouth, now I know it's NOT SPIT..

I think I'm going to write to them and ask if perhaps the Stain on Monica's Dress 'came' from Mathews mouth during a right winger interview, with her sitting too close to the action.

I've read the transcripts, can't bring myself to watch any of it, for fear of MY gag reflex.. Looks like there's more than one DEEP THROAT In Washington DC, eh?

Disgusting little slimefest, Someone needs to photoshop a scene from that interview with a bunch of roaches watching the tv and CHEERING :)

So when does Delay don a Frock and start running around curing cancer by laying his hands on people?
