"Liberals Hate It" Neocon Hate Radio at Its Finest in Houston
Having not cruised I-45 in a while, I just noticed this, so forgive me if it's already been posted. I don't know about you guys, but I think it is time for a little fun.

3. Yeah, I posted about that a while back but didn't have a pic handy.
I have to see that stupid billboard every morning on my way to work. In a way it's right...Liberals should hate it. They're right wing hate, that is.

5. The same billboards run in Atlanta for a local station.
Only right-wing radio would advertise with the word "hate".

14. Yep. I've seen them here.
They know their audience. They want the people who "hate" and they advertise that openly.

6. Common billboard for the RW stations in Florida.
Another is one of Limbaugh saying, "Liberals just don't get it!"

Come to think about it, the Contin addict is actually right on that one. I don't get it.

7. I remarked on this phenom and the Bush Supporter
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=2074363&mesg_id=2074363

However, I think there is another element of America that will never, ever admit Bush is anything but right every single time.

The people who would rather have an incompetent, deadly president who rips them off and sends their family and friends to die, than to admit that the peaceniks, gays, democrats, minorities, city folk and liberals have a point.

The people who are so alienated from America that they saw the best thing about Bush is that a) "those people" hated him to distraction and therefore just having Bush as president was huge fun and b) that being "for Bush" meant that you had an ideological and cultural basis for hating all "those people" for a reason other than their money, education, success, etc.

FACTS. The neocons (perps of dividing our country, most noticably recalled in the organisms of Newt Gingrich and Rush Limprod) are NOT the Republicans" with whom Democrats have worked for decades to hammer out reasonable compromises. And it is best if the moderate Republicans start distancing themselves from them. Neocons will lose their hateful voice.

Hateful little shits. I'll do some calling when I get a condom for my cell phone.

12. Fuckers like these won't let you get a word in edgewise
As soon as they know you have their number, it is nothing but talkus interruptus until you get tired of it and you either (a) hang up or (b) get cut out.

That's their idea of "talk" radio. No discourse. They suck as broadcasters.

15. Yep
And I really like being a liberal because we are progressive.

Progressive means progressive, not regressive.

I would love for Air America to take out some billboards like this and work toward reuniting the nation as a workable entity instead of the "demonic" divisiveness promoted by this type of public print.

13. I'd say the best way to bust these guys chops
is to bring down clear channel with anti-trust laws and review of the licensing of airspace through the FCC. But as long as the repubs own the executive and congress, that won't happen. Clear Channel/FCC/DoJ owns this problem. The ownership of broadcast media has become too concentrated.

As for the bill boards, maybe community standards through the city and county can deal with this at the local level, take down all signs and ads, they are tacky. Personally, I haven't seen very many 'good' highway ads since those Burma Shave signs on the side of Route 66. The Interstates have signs at the exit, as to what is at the exit. What more is needed?

If driving on the Interstate, don't those big billboards ruin the scenery? Crap, it makes our country look like one big stripmall.

19. Yes, and Houston has had the billboard battle
in the last 15 years or so. I-45 looks like trash city. The billboards are huge and ugly. Can you imagine how pissed Teddy Roosevelt (a real Republican) is because of all the weakening of the antitrust laws the neocons have done?

Meanwhile, indymedia is on the "tersts" list.

18. If you travel across country by car, all you hear is RW hate radio
propaganda on AM radio, particularly in rural areas There are no other options or choices as far as news and opinion goes, other than Air America in some of the larger cities, with a few exceptions like Bernie and Ray on KGO in SF or Tom Hartmann on KPOJ in Portland.

Corporate owned and sponsored republican hate radio is the most extensive and effective propaganda machine ever devised.

20. " . . The Most Extensive And Effective Propaganda Machine Ever Devised"
HEAR HEAR! ! !

Most progressives/liberals have no idea what a pervasive medium radio is among the middle and lower classes, and does a lot to explain why so many of these people are voting against their best interests.

Keep em mis-informed and stirred up with peripheral wedge issues.
