Contrast Dean's response with Schumer's response regarding Abramoff
DEAN: There are no Democrats who took money from Jack Abramoff, not one, not one single Democrat. Every person named in this scandal is a Republican. Every person under investigation is a Republican. Every person indicted is a Republican. This is a Republican finance scandal. There is no evidence that Jack Abramoff ever gave any Democrat any money. And we've looked through all of those FEC reports to make sure that's true.

SEN. SCHUMER: Well, he hasn't received any money from Jack Abramoff. In fact, I talked to Harry Reid.

More:SEN. SCHUMER: Well, but the tribal clients are sometimes different. I mean, lots of senators, Democrat and Republican in the West, have relationships—particularly in the West, have relationships with the Indian tribes. And let me say this: The issue here is not simply receiving contributions. The issue is whether services were rendered in return. That's what the Justice Department is mentioning. The Justice Department has mentioned the names of a group of people -- John is certainly right; it's not everybody, but every single person they mentioned was a Republican. Harry Reid's name was not mentioned. He's a person of integrity and I don't think the two are at all the same.

Hey Schumer, you did ok but STOP USING THE WORD WELL to start your sentences - it it not firm or declarative enough. Look at Dean's statement: concise, factual,TO THE POINT with no wasted words

STOP USING THE WEASELLY WORD: WELL,

3. I like Schumer, but he does get too PC sometimes.
It seems to be a handicap of politicians. ALMOST ALL OF THEM!

Dean is different. I don't know if that's because he's not running for anything, or because he just doesn't believe in the PC speek!

I'l tell you though, I think there are a lot of people who prefer the "straight talk" of a Dean to the sugar coated stuff you hear all the damn time!

4. I voted for Dean, I like his straight, blunt style. Also not a huge fan
of Schumer's for some reasons that involve his views on the Iraq War. I've heard him conflate the war on Iraq with the War on terror.

8. I Agree, Compared With Jane Harmon On NSA Wiretapping...
he was great...Harmon spoke in total mush-mouth mode although she had previously said that the NSA spying was illegal for domestic situations, it was hard to tell that from her appearance on Fox News...

What is kind of significant though is that two major pundit talking heads, Russert and Blitzer, tried to slide the republican talking point that dems took money from Abramoff "clients" by and were challenged on it. As long as we keep challenging them, that will help some.

9. Harmon (like Schumer) keeps giving into the 911 propaganda/terror.

She always prefaces (or ends up conceding) that "everything is different now" or "we are being targetted by enemies no one knows of or has ever heard of" or "we're are all going to die" (paraphrased).

Once she does this, Herr Hume simply nods and changes the subject or goes to commercial.

5. Schumer gets too much air time.
I wrote him off a few months back when he said he would vote to go to Iraq again.

He's one of those guys who just doesn't get it until he screws it up a few times.

6. You'd think Schumer would have a staffer make sure,
about this before he commented. MSM is doing the same thing, Dem's need to make sure the american people know that this is a re-pub scandal and the Dem's are clean and ever Dem that gets in front of a TV camera should say so loud and clear!

7. Schumer is a weasel.
I can't forget when he bragged on Bill maher show about the question he asked some fascist W nominee: "What's your favorite movie?" - and how proud he was he insisted on an answer. I kept waiting for a punchline - but no, there it was: my senator waving RW-ers into our courts provided they share their tastes in movies with him. Schumer is a dick.
