Now that Senator Feingold has spoken out so openly on holding the president accountable and favoring gay marriage he is likely to be met with conservative protests at his listening sessions in Wisconsin April 8-12.

Wisconsinners, show up if you can to support him! :patriot:

Everybody send something in to the Progressive Patriots fund to show your support. Since last Sunday I know of $3500 that has been sent in by DUers to this fund and I'd live to see more. This is his campaign fund and is also used to support progressive candidates running this year.

As Feingold says: "As Democrats, we must prove that we won't back down from a fight. We must stand up and stand together, and with one voice demand accountability from a President who has broken the law.

Sensenbrenner has been drawing protesters from the immigrant community. He yelled back at a Hispanic woman "You're not even in my district" but she WAS from his district. Pretty sure that moment was caught on video!

Kennedy will be a much more ethical, sensible representative for this district- he is a college teacher (he teaches Portuguese and Brazilian culture) with progressive values.

I went to a Kerry fundraising event and there were about 5 Republicans standing outside with flip-flops. Another time, Senator Landrieu was giving the commencement address at Loyola University, and a four or five fundie nutjobs were waving around pro-life signs.

They are trying to write discrimination into the State of Wisconsin constitution - there is a vote in November. He was asked about it in a listening sessin and he answered that he thought it was time for the discrimination to end. I can more easily imagine people getting upset about that than about censuring Bush. Strangely, there are a lot of fundamentalist right wing voters in Wisconsin.
