"Sam's got the intellect necessary to bring a lot of class to that court"

Ummm, what?

WASHINGTON - President Bush sent Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito off to his confirmation hearings Monday with praise, a good-luck handshake and a demand that senators "give this man a fair vote."

***

Speaking to reporters afterward in the Rose Garden, the president called Alito "eminently qualified" and said, "Sam's got the intellect necessary to bring a lot of class to that court."

1. So the court is unclassly or just too lower-class for Bush's liking?

6. Alito will make this the Catholic Court
if he is approved.

No doubt Bush's big buddy, Pope Ratzinger, is creaming his vestments....

7. I'm just amazed this line wasn't delivered ...
... in Georgie's usual double-speak:

"Sam's got the intellect necessary, because he's got the necessary intellect. He'll bring class to the court, because he's a class-bringer."

8. Alito looks extremely conflicted
like he wishes he were nowhere near Bush. Maybe he realizes how corrupt Bush is, and how he is doing business with a lowly character.

Anyway, that is how I read his expression.
