"A Florida energy company has called in the FBI and offered a $100,000 reward to try and find out who drilled a hole in one of its nuclear power stations.

Workers at Florida Power and Light found the small hole when doing pre-start up tests on a reactor at the Turkey Point Unit Three power plant.

It had been drilled - inadvertently or deliberately - into a cooling system pipe for one of its nuclear reactors.

Florida Power has now repaired the damage and plans to restart the unit."

And now all they are left with is a hole, and no-one can remember how it got there.

Seriously speaking, it would be much easier for a forgotten screw to fall out and get lost, than for someone to start drilling random holes in the pipes there.

I have inside information about the Turkey Point incident that I can't talk about here. But just trust me, plant security at nuke sites is not the problem. Disgruntled craft labor is the problem.

It happened Thursday as company officials talked to residents about a similar incident at a plant in Lasalle County in February.

Exelon says the gas turned into water and flowed into a nearby ditch."
