If Bush authorized the leak, why didn't he just say so
before the two year investigation? Why did he let all these people get dragged before the grand jury? If he declassified the information about Plame, etc., and it was therefore, "important for the public to know," as they are ascerting now, why didn't he just say so in the beginning?

Why?

3. I'm sure you're right, but it seems to be the obvious question.
I'm waiting to see if the MSM bothers to ask it. I wonder how Scotty would slither around that one. Ah, don't tell me... I know... "I can't talk about an ongoing investigation." But, here's my reply to that, would I have such an opportunity, "That's the point, Scott, there would be no investigation had the president just told everybody he'd authorized the dissemination of that information in the first place. Why, Scott, is there an investigation?"

not to mention the fact that they can't keep their lies straight.

5. Yup. This is key.
Oh, how I hope Newsweek (and other corporate media) will cover this extensively. For a selfish reason.

I bought my dad a Newsweek subscription for Christmas, after much thought and opinion-seeking as to what wouldn't turn him off as a "liberal" publication but would still keep him relatively informed as to the big issues, as compared to Faux. (He and my mom used to be big Faux viewers.)

My point is, my dad was OK with Clinton, not a big fan but ok, until the Monica scandal and even then what my dad was outraged about wasn't his behavior necessarily but the fact that "he LIED! He lied to ME when he said that." (my dad's words.) I am SO hoping that people like my dad (and there are plenty of them, conservatives but not neocons) who will finally wake up and see this lying sack of shit for what he is. Though I can't believe they haven't already.

My dad is old fashioned and says there's nothing lower than a liar and a thief, and a thief is just another kind of liar.

6. Good Questions!
Now who in the press is going to ask them? (Helen Thomas is out-- she'll need to wait another 3 years to be called on).

7. Why did he let Judy Miller sit in jail if he wanted the NIE released
to the public? Doesn't make sense. . .

12. Yes, it's probably all part of the "drown the governement" plan.
Anything to spend more money - unless it's on troops, or veterans, or old people, or sick people, or hungry people, or homeless people, or... Well, you get the idea.

11. Too busy obstructing and covering up.
Is there some real evidence to support this claim by Libby or is it just another strategery that took them months to dream up?
