What's a fundie to do?

On the fish, here's two different stories:

but this one came out this week!

Oldest evidence yet of fish moving to land

April 6, 2006

n the frozen rocks of an island 800 miles from the North Pole, scientists have discovered a group of fossils that clearly mark one of the most crucial events in human evolution: a moment in time some 375 million years ago when primitive fish first began moving from the world's oceans to the land.

The fossils show that the animals bore the scales, gills and fins of fish, but also the ribs, neck, rudimentary ear bones and primitive limbs of what ultimately would become the arms and legs of the first land animals -- the ancestors of all reptiles, dinosaurs, birds and mammals, including humans, the scientists say.

The primitive fish are the most important evidence yet discovered for a transitional life form that developed along the path of evolution by adapting in the water to the new land environment they encountered, other experts say.

Very cool new lobe finned-amphibian transition found in Arctic Canada. They chose an Inuktitut name for a living fish as the scientific name.

8. They found the fossil of a "missing link" between fish and reptile.

The bones of that which "crawled out of the sea onto the land". It seems to have had scales and something of the beginning of feet.

The discovery of a fossilised crocodile-like creature gives us one of the missing links between fish and land-living animals.
Tiktaalik roseae fossil is a missing link between fish and land animals

The new species, Tiktaalik roseae, has features found in fish, such as fins and gills, and also features that are only found in land-living animals, such as a wrist, elbow and neck.

The crocodile-like creature probably lived in shallow water but had limb-like lobe-fins that enabled it to carry itself up onto land.

'This is the fossil of the year and a most significant addition to our knowledge,' said Natural History Museum palaeontologist Dr Andrew Milner.

'It is a stepping-stone in the water-land transition showing us a permutation of features not seen before, notably the combination of lobe-fins with the beginnings of a neck.'

Researchers say floating ice helped Jesus walk on water

By Alan Cooperman

The Washington Post

Combining evidence of a cold snap 2,000 years ago with sophisticated mapping of the Sea of Galilee, Israeli and U.S. scientists have come up with an explanation of how Jesus could have walked on water.

Their answer: It was floating ice.

The scientists acknowledge that the Sea of Galilee, in what is now northern Israel, has never frozen in modern times. But they say geological core samples suggest that average temperatures were lower in Jesus' day and that there were at least two protracted cold spells in the region 1,500 to 2,500 years ago.

In addition to chilly weather, their explanation depends on a rare property of the Sea of Galilee, known to modern-day Israelis as Lake Kinneret. It is fed by salty springs along its western shore that produce plumes of dense water, thermally isolating areas that could freeze even if the entire lake did not, they assert.

“It really would be a miracle if Judas was the author of this document, because he died at least 100 years before it was written,” Bible Society chief executive James Catford said.

were written.....

If I remember correctly, none of them were ACTUALLY written by the person for whom they are named.
They were passed down orally and then transcribed in Greek and then perhaps in Coptic and many other languages before they were translated into English.
But we cannot confuse these guys with facts.

Science, facts, and logic have never penetrated their fog of fantasy before---why should these discoveries make any difference?
