Here's a scary thought What if our military is being run as well as FEMA?
If the same level of incompetence exists in our Military that is exhibited by FEMA, Medicare, No Child Left Behind, et alii, how safe are we? If 2 Billion Chinese all of a sudden decide they don't like us all that much, would we even stand a chance at defending ourselves? All they'd have to do is plan the invasion the day Chimpy goes to Crawford. Hell, they'd have at least a week head start before the mighty Nimrod even discovered he lost half his country. These guys like to talk tough but let's face it, Iraq WAS a slam-dunk.

The 11 year siege had damn near done the job for Bush. Because dissension was growing (helped in no small part by our resolution to overthrow Saddam), to maintain control Saddam chose to further brutalize and intimidate his people. Iraq was weak, it's people dispirited and emaciated from 11 years of hunger and poverty, it was hardly conquering Rome.

The only threat Iraq posed turned out to be imaginary. If Saddam had used WMD against our troops, the effect could have been devastating; considering the size of our invasion force. But fortunately, Bush knew he didn't have to worry about that. Saddam was left with a meager military and the Iraqi army dissolved under 6 months of intensive bombing and focused land attacks.

At the start of the war, these puketarded rat-turds coined the term Shock and Awe. The idea was that they were going to hit Iraq so hard, the entire country would be awe struck. But this propaganda campaign wasn't directed at the Iraqi people; they didn't need the TV to be shocked and awed. No, this Shock and Awe was aimed at the world. These puke-licking slime bags wanted the world to witness the terrifying fury of the benevolent American Empire. They wanted the world to stand slack-jawed in amazement and terror over the prospect of that sort of violence being delivered to their homes. Well, my guess is, most of the world leaders are standing slack-jawed in amazement, they must be amazed at how stupid we are for letting these incompetent idiots continue to protect us.

They also must wonder if we haven't proved a paper tiger incapable of mounting a cohesive defense against fourth generation tactics. Now, you may say... "Oh they'd see them coming long before they could hit us." And I'd say, "They saw Katrina coming long before it hit us." You might say, "Another country couldn't hide the force necessary to overthrow the U.S." I'd say, "Iraqi Insurgency, 9/11 and the Levee's." Let's hope someone in our government IS anticipating a breach in our defenses and hopefully has a plan. My guess is, Bush probably has never considered the possibility that someone may decide to wage a pre-emptive war against us.

You know, it's after thoughts like these that I really wish we had fair elections.

1. I have no faith in anyone of them
Everything in our government has been so politicized that no one makes decision for the good of the country.

2. As Senator Kerry said, it's time to go, leave Iraq, get away.
Now.

5. We should have put in UN peacekeepers
North and south. We should have been rebuilding those areas, putting in local democratic elections, won their hearts and minds completely. They would have squeezed Saddam out on their own. They would have also been much more familiar with democratic governance and compromise, and it would have made THEIR OWN transition much smoother. We didn't need to drop one bomb or put in one troop. It's this bullying mentality of Republicans that causes all these stupid problems. Clinton should have stood up to them, and the ME, and demanded a better course for Iraq all along.

And yeah, I'm sure our utter failure in Iraq, and Katrina, haven't gone unnoticed by many countries around the world. Nor our inability to provide our troops with proper armor, or even produce enough bullets. Me thinks you're in trouble when you outsource bullet manufacturing.

6. Then how could we rob them with the U.N. watching?
Everyone knows we're pillaging the country of it's resources and using the insurgency as a cover to do so. At times, I wonder if "we're" the one's responsible for some of the IED and surprise attacks. The cover of chaos allows them the opportunity to take whatever they want while the people are distracted. Remember the "lost" $9 billion? Think they'll ever find it? Nope, too busy fighting the insurgency to go hunting for chump change. It's seems odd that every time someone of substance raises the issue of that lost money or the siphoning off of the oil or the shoddy equipment we paid top dollar for(body armor, Humvee's, IED detectors, etc...), the insurgency flairs up an the question gets lost in the death of a couple of children. At this point, I believe these guys are capable of just about any atrocity to make a buck.

And about Clinton and Iraq. Clinton didn't have much of a choice in his stance against Iraq. The Reich-wing tried every dirty trick in the book to get Clinton to attack Iraq (even going so far as to try and tie the Oklahoma City Bombing to covert Iraqi agents). Clinton refused to take the bait but threw them a bone (signing their resolution to overthrow Saddam). They were so pissed off that they couldn't lure him into Iraq, they outed his affair with Monica and then installed Chimpy as Dictator. 9/11 gave them the excuse to overcome any further opposition to the invasion and now, here we are. A smoke-screen insurgency that only benefits American corporations and a country spiraling ever downward into civil war.
