After watching NOW, I've come to realize
that the evening news needs to be converted from the old news, weather, and sports divisions format to a government provided news, corporate provided news, weather, and sports format or possibly corporate provided news, government provided news, weather and sports.

1. The segment on gay adoption in Florida
was an eye-opener. I had no idea it was the only state that prohibited gay adoption. The assclown faux christians are preventing kids from finding their "forever homes." Disgusting.

2. Agreed.
They can't find enough homes for kids with problems, yet they keep trying to ban abortion to create more. No logic in it.

3. loved the vignette about when they first took Francesca in
as a 4-year-old. She ran in and went tearing through the house swearing and flipping them off. Dad turned to Daddy and said, "I love her." Priceless.

with christians, especially the fundies? As Bob Boudelang would say (where's he been lately, anyway?).... arrest my case! ;)

4. Foster kids without homes are a "necessary" facet of Florida life
Foster kids are often quite troubled, and once the state quits paying foster homes/group homes for their "care" at age 18,they are O U T ...and on their own..

Florida has built a bunch of prisons, just waiting to be their "new homes"..

It's a cottage industry for some states..:(

6. Troubled kids provide another argument for gay adoption
Gay couples will often take kids that nobody else will because they are so desperate to form families. I've known of a foster care agency that placed a kid with serious psychiatric problems with a gay couple wanting to adopt. The boy had had something like a dozen failed placements by the time he was four (a fact that was not disclosed to the gay couple). It was the child's last hope before institutionalization and this couple gave the child more than two years of intensive care before they had to give up. It was heartbreaking!

7. Nothing says profits to neocons like privatized prisons!
They can pretty much eliminate health care and serve the cheapest food possible, and no politician will listen to complaints from the inmates, because, hey, they can't vote anyway!

8. Government provided weather too...
if Ricky Santorum had his way. We can't have those civilian meteorologists just throwing out forecasts willy-nilly. :eyes:

10. The answer is simple
stop watching... these news organizations are.. above anything.. businesses.
They are changing to meet public demand & bolster viewership in order to attract
sponsor dollars that keep the business viable. If you stop watching (and everyone
who feels as you do) stops watching... they WILL respond if their viewership begins
to decrease. I guarantee it.
