First off... it's MIGRATION not IMmigration |
|
it's not like these people want to actually STAY here.
they want to come in, make money, and go back home where their money is worth like 8 times as much.
smart...
get a clue ya egotistical american bastards.

3. You know what? You're as guilty as what you accuse others of. |

Not all migrants stay, once they arrive in the US.
Not all migrants who come to the US go back.
I'd like to see the statistics to prove your assertion, though.

I've known some that wanted to go back, and had been here 25 years and had kids that were citizens.
I've known some that were here a few months and wanted to say. Some wanted to marry here, figuring that it was a sure way to green-cardom (no cardamom puns, please). Others were only here a year or two and wanted to send home for the family.
I don't have a feeling for the percentages, my sample is far, far too small and geographically restricted.

As for the rest of your post. You can't be more wrong.
The illegals come here to make money and don't go back. Just the money they earn.
All legal immigrants are welcome to America

|
or are you saying that the only people you have problems with are people who cross a political border to make money to take home?

9. OK... this needs to be said again |

The problem of illegals is decades old. Ever wonder why it's white hot all of a sudden? I'm sure it's just a coincidence it got popular when certain bribery scandals were heating up...
It's A) a distraction from the real news B) a way to re-ignite the base by hating Mexicans because it isn't cool to hate "Negroes" these days C) al of the above
Ignore the straw man

Whether they stay, whether they go; whether US corporates employ them here or in their home countries; whether they bust US unions with these workers; it's all about Worker Exploitation. I don't know why we can't rally around that very simple point.

11. Yeah, I mean-- a lot of the SW is "old Mexico" |
|
I've met people from California, even some conservatives who note that Latino immigration is extremely sensitive there (and distinct from the rest of the issue in general) b/c of the bloody history the US and Mexico have had, the fact that the US gained the SW after an offensive war with Mexico, and many mestizos and Native Americans (who prior to that had roamed freely across the region) were not cut off by a border. The people who are indigenous to the region, state that the frontier there shouldn't exist, that they were blocked from a region in which they had freely moved before. Needless to say, this is an extremely touchy and emotional issue, and it's one reason why the perspective on supposedly "illegal immigration" is different there-- there's a historical context that colors the debate.
