DON'T PAY YOUR TAXES?
What if we all refused to pay our taxes. Lets say the 64% of America that hates BU$h and wants him out REFUSES (out of protest)to pay their taxes? Thats what, 192 million people? How fast would the economy collapse? They would HAVE to make a deal with us or we'd go under FAST.

This may be our only option, what with the elections fixed. I realize that it would never happen, but "what if?" They wouldnt be able to drag everyone into court, they'd still be having hearing 1,000 years from now. I think this should seriously be considered as an ooption if these maniacs pull some "suspending the constitution" shit. We have no other choices! We cant vote them out and as a result, we (the american ppl) are left with no recourse. The architects of the constitution never imagined a day when the american system of checks and balances was completely corrupted.

Discuss.

1. Sorry, many people must file to get their refunds.
I did.
The only way to stop paying taxes for most of us is to cease witholding. I'm pretty sure my employer won't go along with that.
Next suggestion?

2. You'll essentially zero-fund social programs at the same time.

A better form of passive resistance is combining worker strikes with protest marches/rallies. The Ukrainians combined both with great effect, and the Georgians did as well.

Unfortunately, I don't feel Americans will do that unless they are made as desperate like those people were, and most Americans enjoy a relatively comfortable lifestyle compared to those desperate, poverty-stricken people.

If people want to stop the economy, then stop economic activity by refusing to work or shop for a day or two. If 60 percent of the US population stopped shopping and stopped working for 48 hours, it would rock the financial foundations of the elite in this country.

6. i agree, but most ppl are too damn lazy and apathetic to
ever get up and do shit. They dont want to leave their homes or stray away from the malls. I have no idea what we are going to do to get these ppl out of office. Im completely convinved that the elections are fixed and that Bu$h et al are going anywhere in '08

8. People are too lazy not to work for 48 hours?
The problem is communication. It's hard to spread the message across the entire span of the country not to show up to work, and then there is the issue of fear--fear of the consequences of not showing up for work, fear of the boss, fear of the government, etc. People can be made so scared that they would vote for Hitler if he promised them relief.

It would result in many (good) federal programs being underfunded, and alot of Americans sitting in Gitmo...

4. They would love it
They are obviously trying to bankrupt the country. Nobody can be this incompetent, yes, not even Bush "The CEO pres). The tax cuts, trade deficit, weak dollar, etc., they don't give a shit. Their policies only exacerbate the problems our nation faces.

5. Hey, they take more than they are entitled to--so they'd end up making out
And failing to file is just the thing they'd use to generate even MORE revenue. Garnishment of wages, forfeiture of assets...those guys don't play around.

The lawyers would love it, so long as they got their cash to defend the dodgers up front.

7. But couldnt we not pay them UNTIL we got what we wanted?
How fast would they give in? Thats the question. Im not saying NEVER pay them , just hold off until the american ppl finally had a LEGITIMATE say in how their country is run.
