Eye on the ball: Who Leaked Plames Name?
All this furor over the authorized leak of classified documents is just smoke.

Who cares?

Who Leaked Plames identity? Who outed a covert CIA operative who was activily involved with gathering crucially needed info on WMDs for the onging War on Terror? Who crippled our ability to gather such information just when we needed it most?

Namely: Who stabbed us in the back?

The leaking of classified documents is smoke. Outing Plames identity is fire.

1. But, but, but...
I just heard Bill Kristol say, right on my TV, that Plame was NOT covert.

2. I wonder about the truthfullness, timing of Libby's testimony
And the WH non-response, very peculiar.

It seems to me, this may be a desperate attempt of a sinking presidency to garner some sympathy support and creating a wonderful '06 talking point. Bill Kristol is now spinning Fitzgerald's investigation as an "attempt to harm the president and vice president".

Talking point #1: "The Democrats just want to win back Congress so they can Impeach Bush"

I know it is popular here, but I don't think it is wise to make it a prominent feature of your platform for '06. Energy security(gas prices, biofuels), national security (immigration, borders and ports), and Iraq should be our top three, IMO. Impeachment is always a possibility once Conyers, Waxman, and others can get Chairmanships.

I really do question the authenticity of this, if Libby were compelled to testify that it was Bush, it would throw another wrench into Fitzgerald's investigation. Even if Libby were convicted of multiple counts of perjury, he would be pardoned, especially if this strategy works and saves their majority in the House/Senate and thus their asses.

Who leaked Plame's name? Libby could be telling the truth, but why should we believe him?
